Dressed to Kill (also released as Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Code) is an American 1946 detective movie, directed by Roy William Neill and starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson. This is the last of fourteen Sherlock Holmes films starring Rathbone and Bruce. The story is original, with some plot elements of "The Adventure of the Six Napoleons". Three music boxes, made by a convict in Dartmoor prison, are sold at a local auction house. A gang, lead by the master of disguise Hilda Courtney, wants to get these music boxes as their tunes contain secret code to the location of stolen Bank of England printing plates.

The following weapons were used in the film Dressed to Kill:

Colt 1877 Thunderer Shopkeeper Model

Hilda Courtney's accomplice Colonel Cavanaugh (Frederick Worlock) holds an antique (for 1940s) Colt 1877 Thunderer Shopkeeper Model. It is likely same prop, seen in two earlier movies of the series: Sherlock Holmes Faces Death and The Spider Woman.

Note: see additional promotional images on talk page.
