Pursuit to Algiers is an American 1945 detective movie, directed by Roy William Neill and starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson. This is the twelfth installment to the series of fourteen Sherlock Holmes films starring Rathbone and Bruce. The story isn't based on any Arthur Conan Doyle's work but takes some lines from "The Adventure of the Red Circle". A king of a fictional state of Rovinia is murdered, and his heir, Prince Nikolas, is currently in Britain. Holmes is asked to escort the Prince to his country. They sail on an ocean liner for Algiers, with the Prince disguised as Watson's nephew. During the voyage, a trio of enemy agents make attempts to kill Holmes and kidnap the Prince.

Agatha Dunham (Rosalind Ivan) carries an FN Model 1905 style pocket pistol in her purse. Close views allow to identify this gun as Venus model of Tomas de Urizar workshop in Eibar, Spain. The screen gun appears to be chambered in 7.65mm caliber.
Several lever-action rifles that appear to be Winchester carbines Model 1892 or Model 1894 are seen in a showcase of hunting accessories rent store "Stimson's by Appointment".
