Severino is a 1978 East German-Romanian Western ("Red Western") movie directed by Claus Dobberke and based on the novel "Severino von den Inseln" by Eduard Klein. Unlike most Western movies, the story is set in Argentina. Manzeneros Indian tribe lives on the edge of the Argentinian Andes. Severino (Gojko Mitic) returns home after being gone for ten years and finds out that his father Raymondo was recently found dead. The white ranchers claim Raymondo to be a livestock thief. In turn, old Nicolas is convinced that the ranchers steal cattle from Manzeneros and calls for war against the Whites. Severino tries to find out who foments enmity between Indians and ranchers.

The following weapons were used in the film Severino:

Revolvers

Single Action Army

Severino (Gojko Mitic) carries a Single Action Army revolver in several scenes. It is most likely Cavalry model.

Unidentified revolvers

Bandits chieftain (Ion Dichiseanu) carries a revolver that appears to be some Colt cap and ball revolver, like Colt 1851 Navy. Police Sergeant (Leon Niemczyk) carries same looking revolver in holster.

Rifles

Winchester Model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine

Winchester Model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbines are used by Severino (Gojko Mitic), his brige Maruja (Violeta Andrei), old Nicolas (Mircea Anghelescu) and police Sergeant (Leon Niemczyk).

Karabiner 1888

Many Manzeneros warriors, including Severino's yound brother Blas (Constantin Fugasin), and ranchers are armed with Karabiner 1888s. They probably stand for similar looking Argentine Mauser 1891 or Mauser 1909 carbines.

Custom Karabiner 1888

In several scenes Karabiner 88 guns with a straight bolt handle, unlike the standard model, are seen (probably a single prop reused). Possibly this is a result of a repair when the bolt of the carbine was replaced with the one of infantry Gewehr 88.

Mauser Karabiner 98a

Several ranchers, notably Juan Cortinez (Helmut Schreiber), the leader of the attack on Manzeneros village, and some Indian warriors are armed with Karabiner 98a short rifles.

Spanish Mauser M1895 Carbine

Carbines, similar to Karabiner 88 but without protruding magazine, are supposedly Spanish Mauser M1895 Carbine. Possibly a single prop is used.

Serbian Mauser M1908 Carbine

One more carbine with similar outlook appears to be Serbian Mauser M1908 Carbine. It can be identified by the pistol grip stock, contrary to straight grip stock of Karabiner 88 and Spanish M1895 carbines, and large grasping grooves. Possibly a single prop is used.
