A couple things:

I'm pretty sure that the "M4-Type" is actually an M16A2/3 fitted with a 6-position retractable stock (covered in cloth wrap) and a RIS handguard with rail covers and an AN/PEQ-15 (with unnecessary zip ties securing it to the rails.) The gun has a 20' barrel and a fixed carry handle so it's definitely not an M4 or M16A4.

Also, the SIG P250 isn't definitively anachronistic. The comics started being written in 2003, but the storyline date is intentionally unspecified, so that note should probably be removed. --Sergeant Simpleton (talk) 09:59, 24 December 2016 (EST)

I've seen images of troops in the training/field with PEQs and optics ziptied to their weapons for additional securing before (example), so it is a legitimate if uncommon practice. But, yeah, no start date for the comic continuity has been given, unlike the TV show continuity where scenes in Fear definitively set it as beginning in 2010, making some weapons like the Kel-Tec KSG appearing in Season 7 anachronistic. Interesting to learn - though if I had to guess I'd say that it probably wasn't done because of the military practice but simply just to give the guns a more "post-apocalyptic" look (for the same reason they all have cloth wraps and tallies presumably about zombie/people kills scratched onto their lower receivers.) I'm also pretty sure even the TV show is meant to be ambiguous and that Fear only stopped at 2010 to line up with the beginning of the main series rather than to actually say it occurred that year. Though honestly it doesn't matter because I doubt the showrunners actually take the timeline into real consideration when they have the option to use cool guns or cars instead (and it happens all the time - you see SCARs, M27 IARs, KSGs, UTS-15s, and plenty of new AR-15 variants like the YHM Enforcer that did not exist or would have been extremely rare when the show started.) --Sergeant Simpleton (talk) 09:55, 25 December 2016 (EST)
Regardless of intent, Fear definitively sets a start date for the apocalypse, though. The civilian SCARs were first released in 2010 and would be uncommon but not anachronistic. I'm still unconvinced that the rifle in season 6 is a actual M27, but it isn't technically anachronistic either because it did exist prior and was initially fielded in late 2010, making it unlikely but not impossible. Spartan198 (talk) 16:58, 25 December 2016 (EST)
I mean even a 14.5' HK416 would be pretty rare in 2010, they aren't exactly the most common guns. But this is probably overanalysis - I mean, they've done several episodes prominently featuring or even built around specific brand cars (Chrysler and Dodge) just for product placement purposes, and they reuse even recognizable props all the time, so I don't think a couple anachronistic or unlikely guns is a huge problem by comparison. --Sergeant Simpleton (talk) 22:32, 25 December 2016 (EST)
Not uncommon, but not impossible. Anachronisms don't really bother me unless they're extremely overt (e.g., CoD: Black Ops), but they are something we should be pointing out. Spartan198 (talk) 03:28, 27 December 2016 (EST)

Anyhow, back to the topic of the AR-15, it's an M16A4 with a collapsible stock. There was a really good shot of the receiver in Episode 2 and there's a clear line separating the carry handle and receiver, Telltale just left off the screw knobs. I put a new hard drive in my PS4 (2TB) and now have room for the game. I'll go through both episodes again in the next couple days and get screencaps. Spartan198 (talk) 22:03, 7 January 2017 (EST)

Conrad's Shotgun

Any idea what he was carrying? It's a full size with what looked to me like tactical sights, and it's pump action, so it's not a reused FN shotgun like the last two games had. I note it's not on the page yet. I'd grab some screens but we sorta left him dead in a Virginia train tunnel. Also, can we get some screen shots of the AKs the New Frontier are using? I'll see if I can grab more, but if anyone else feels obliged...--That's the Way It's Done (talk) 15:28, 25 July 2017 (EDT)

Huh, I just realized it wasn't on here. In fact, I had thought I finished this page ages ago. Crap, my bad, guys. I'll have to get to that. Spartan198 (talk) 09:04, 18 August 2018 (EDT)

Final Season

The first episode of the final season released about a week ago. I played the demo and all that was in it was a revolver and a Mk 2 hand grenade. But right now I don't have the money to get the full version. I'll probably wait until the eventual full series compilation releases on disc instead of buying Season 4 by itself, that way I can recap the first two seasons and Michonne in glorious high definition, though. Spartan198 (talk) 09:04, 18 August 2018 (EDT)

The first episode has many playthroughs on Youtube and in addition to the weapons you've mentioned there are more. A character named Marlon has a bow and another character named Abel has a Browning M1911 pistol. I was wondering if I could start the Final Season page. --Prat21 (talk) 08:26, 19 August 2018 (EDT)
Sure, go right on ahead. Spartan198 (talk) 16:50, 19 August 2018 (EDT)

Pretty much done

It could still use a few screen grabs (I'm looking for a left side shot of Clem's SIG, for example), but the page is pretty much done in terms of all the guns found in the game. I'll remove the WIP template when I upload the new caps I do have. Spartan198 (talk) 15:19, 26 August 2018 (EDT)

Walther PPK/S

What's up with that rectangular notch on the right side of the gun, between the ejection port and the front site? --Slemke1998 (talk) 19:39, 22 January 2019 (EST)
