The R wz. 42 "Sidolówka" was a fragmentation type high explosive hand grenade first produced in Warsaw 1942. The name Sidolówka came from Sidol, which was a metal cleaning agent produced by the company Henkel. The bottles of Sidol were used as casings for the grenades, this helped to disguise it. Around 350,000 pieces were made, all of them in underground factories, and a lot of them were used by the Polish Resistance fighters during the Warsaw Uprising.
