In the Last Place (V poslednyuyu ochered) is a 1982 (filmed 1981) Soviet detective movie directed by Andrey Ladynin. The story is set in Moscow in April 1945. Sr. Lt. Aleksandr Smirnov (Vasiliy Mishchenko) is demobilized after being wounded and returns home. He manages to get on the trail of the gang that rob trains with goods on a railway station and uncovers the gang leader.

Ugolovny Rozysk detective Aleksandr Ivanovich Smirnov is the main character of a number of detective novels by Anatoliy Stepanov, some of which, like Prival strannikov, were adapted for screen.

A seasoned criminal Mikhail Semyonych (Lev Borisov) is armed with a Nagant M1895 revolver when he is shot by the railway security guard. Nagants are also seen in hands of Militsiya operatives.
