About

Lorcin Engineering Company was a private American firearms manufacturer based in Mira Loma, California. Founded in 1989 by James Waldorf, company was quite successful in its first few years, producing rather cheap "Saturday night special" pistols constructed of injection-molded zinc alloy Zamak. In 1993 Lorcin has become a number one pistol manufacturer in the United States producing over 341,000 handguns a year, however in 1996 it went bankrupt with 18 pending product liability, personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits. Briefly emerging in 1997 Lorcin then went out of business permanently in 1998 after additional 22 lawsuits were filed against them.

Lorcin's legacy are pistols which considered some of the most unreliable and dangerous in the world, prime examples being Lorcin L22 (which is notable for high risks of discharge due to an insufficient gap between the trigger bar and the sear) and Lorcin L25 (also known for jamming and frequent discharges).
