Welcome to IMFDB

Before you do any editing please take the time to read the Rules, Standards and Principles. This is a very important document that explains how this website is setup as well as telling you what is and isn't allowed. If it is determined by an admin that you have not read these rules, your account will be suspended. Continued non-compliance may result in a permanent ban. After that you should also read the IMFDB Screencapping Guide and the IMFDB Style Guide to familiarize yourself with the image and formatting requirements for pages you create.

There are a number of pages that desperately need your help. You can find these Incomplete pages here.

ACS

Is the page really incomplete? What's missing? --Funkychinaman (talk) 21:33, 21 October 2015 (EDT)

And what is the source of your screenshots if the game isn't coming out until the 23rd? --Funkychinaman (talk) 11:04, 22 October 2015 (EDT)
Very well. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks. --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:19, 22 October 2015 (EDT)

Firearms, that don't exist on the IMFDB

Hello, Caleko! Your ask user Commando552, how he know about weapons, that don't present at IMFDB. It's not very hard. Commando help me to ID Murata Rifle in the film Yellow Fangs that wasn't apperas at the IMFDB before it. I'm ID the Adams Revolver in the anime Case Closed: The Phantom of Baker Street. If the gun are clearly seen, it's not very difficult. Also, may you help me to ID this pistol:

Probably, it's the pistol of the early 20th centery. Pyramid Silent (talk) 13:15, 22 October 2015

Looks a lot like a Mauser Pocket Pistol Caleko (talk)22 October 2015

As for the Colt Derringer, I just so happened to know about it (i think only because of previous research I had done on the Colt 3rd Model Derringer). Pyramid Silent, you are correct in saying that it isn't hard, but only if you already know what the gun is. If you don't know then it can be pretty damn difficult involving a lot of looking through various websites, books, auction sites and still not being able to come up with a match. For example I have been trying to work out a better match for the pocket pistol from ACS but so far haven't been able to find it. Another case in point, that pistol from Desert Punk which nobody has been able to identify (it is similar to the Mauser pocket pistols but there are some definite differences). With animated and video game things it is often more difficult, as you do not know whether the guns are drawn/modelled accurately or are in fact completely fictional. On the topic of the Colt Derringer from ACS, is the "Flare Gun" actually shown launching flares? To me this looks like it is actually just a poorly scaled Colt Derringer --commando552 (talk) 17:02, 23 October 2015 (EDT)

Well Commando 552, I never said it actually was a flare gun, just that it resembles one. Jacob does fire it into the air to get the attention of some enemies, so I figured a flare gun would have been a good guess. I think your dwelling too much on technicality here because as you said yourself, with animation and video games, it is often more difficult, as you do not know whether the guns are drawn/modeled accurately or are in fact completely fictional--Caleko (talk)22 October 2015

If it is just fired into the air I think it is safe to assume that this gun is just a Colt 2nd Model Derringer. It looks slightly too large in the hand, but they probably just scaled up the model because they thought it looked better. If you look in the last image you can see features that clearly indicate it is a Colt Derringer, like the cross section profile of the barrel, the spur trigger and the screw on the front of the frame which is the pivot point for the swing out barrel. --commando552 (talk) 04:47, 24 October 2015 (EDT)
Well in that case i do see what you mean there. The front screw was what was confusing me but since you point it out it does make sense. Regardless, it is a rather largely-scaled model of the gun.--Caleko (talk)22 October 2015

Image naming

Hi, just a reminder regarding in-game screenshots: it isn't a good idea to give them vague names such as "Hand cannon.jpg". You should state the game in which the weapon is seen; an appropriate name for that specific image would be "Fortnite Hand Cannon.jpg". --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 10:52, 19 July 2018 (EDT)
