Walking Tall

Walking Tall Joe Don Baker as Buford Pusser, a former marine and professional wrestler who returned to his hometown in Tennessee only to find that it has been corrupted by gambling and prostitution. Angered by the authorities' nonaction, Pusser decides to run for sheriff and upon his win, proceeds to clean the town up, usually with an array of wooden clubs. Inspired by a true story, the film met box office success, leading to two direct sequels: Walking Tall Part 2 (1975) and Walking Tall: Final Chapter (1977), both starring Bo Svenson as Pusser. A feature film remake starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was released in 2004 and also was followed by sequels: Walking Tall: The Payback and Walking Tall: Lone Justice (both 2007), both of these sequels starring Kevin Sorbo .
