In this Corner of the World (この世界の片隅に Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni) is a 2016 anime movie directed by Sunao Katabuchi (Black Lagoon) based on the manga of the same name by Fumiyo Kono. The 18-year-old Suzu grew up in Hiroshima and has just married the still quite young military employee Shusaku Houjou. Together with her husband, she moves to the small town of Kure near a naval base. Although Japan is at war, the young family can live there in a serene and decent, if simple, life. But gradually, the war is getting closer and finally fall in Kure the bombs. More and more Suzu realizes that her life will soon change forever. The young woman, however, is determined not to let the everyday danger and the scarcity of food spoil her lust for life and the sense of the beautiful things ...
