The Death of Stalin is a 2017 satirical black comedy directed by Armando Iannucci (The Thick of It, In the Loop, Veep) and based on the French graphic novel La mort de Staline . Set in 1953 Soviet Union, the film depicts the power struggle following the death of Joseph Stalin.

The AK-47 is used by Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov (Jason Isaacs ) (incorrectly referred to as Field Marshal in the movie) and other Red Army officers and soldiers during the coup against Beria. One of Stalin's guards carries an AK-47.
