|
The Prince of the Pacific (Le prince du Pacifique) is a 2000 French-Spanish adventure movie directed by Alain Corneau. In 1918 a French Navy ship pesters the tropical island in the South Pacific, inhabited by the Hiva tribe, great warriors of the past. Captain Alfred de Morsac (Thierry Lhermitte) has a mission to recruit tribesmen in French Army. But he finds out that the island is ruled by insane Commandant Lefebvre (François Berléand) who uses the natives as his slaves, selling them for mining work on other islands. De Morsac confronts Lefebvre while the island’s child prince Reia thinks De Morsak to be the legendary hero Tefa’aora who would save the islanders from Lefebvre.
The following weapons were used in the film The Prince of the Pacific (Le prince du Pacifique):
Revolvers

In one scene it is briefly hold by Barnabé (Patrick Timsit). An Mle 1892 is used by a French seaman during the rebellion of natives. What appears to be an Mle 1892 is also seen in the opening scene when Capt. De Morsak (Thierry Lhermitte) leads his soldiers in attack.

In the climactic scene De Morsak (Thierry Lhermitte) uses a Smith & Wesson Military & Police.

Winchester Model 1866
Moeata (Marie Trintignant) secretly owns a Winchester Model 1866 rifle. During her confrontation with De Morsak (Thierry Lhermitte) and Barnabé (Patrick Timsit) the rifle passes from hands to hands until it falls in ocean.
Jaeger Rifle
What is possibly a percussion cap Jaeger Rifle or one of its relatives, is seen in hands of a Fijian soldier.
Shotguns
Single Barreled Shotgun
Single Barreled Shotguns are used by several of Fijian soldiers.
Double Barreled Shotgun
Double Barreled Shotguns are used by several of Fijian soldiers.
