|
The Prince of the Pacific (Le prince du Pacifique) is a 2000 French-Spanish adventure movie directed by Alain Corneau. In 1918 a French Navy ship pesters the tropical island in the South Pacific, inhabited by the Hiva tribe, great warriors of the past. Captain Alfred de Morsac (Thierry Lhermitte) has a mission to recruit tribesmen in French Army. But he finds out that the island is ruled by insane Commandant Lefebvre (François Berléand) who uses the natives as his slave. De Morsac confronts Lefebvre while the island’s child prince Reia thinks De Morsak to be the legendary hero Tefa’aora who would save the islanders from Lefebvre.
