Shoot to Kill is a 1988 thriller directed by Roger Spottiswoode and stars Sidney Poitier as a veteran FBI agent who works with a mountain guide to track down a group of hikers, one of which may be a serial killer. The film also stars Tom Berenger and Kirstie Alley.

A Smith and Wesson Model 586 is carried by FBI Special Agent Warren Stantin (Sidney Poitier) in the film. (At the time, personally owned .357 and .38 spl revolvers were allowed for FBI agents under supervisor's permission, when this agency still used wheelguns.)
Marlin Model 336

Colt Government
Steve (Clancy Brown) is seen holding a Colt Government on FBI Special Agent Warren Stantin (Sidney Poitier) in the film. The handgun is referred to early on in the film by FBI Special Agent Warren Stantin (Sidney Poitier) as a "9mm automatic".
