Talk:Sharpe's Sword
Musket ID
I'm sorry, but some french musket are Brown Bess not Charleville. Note the ramrod position and lack of barrel bands. Pyramid Silent (talk) 16:26, 27 May 2016 (EDT)
- In my memory I thought there were Charlevilles in all these films, but flicking through a few of them I can't find a single real Charleville in any of them. All firing guns used by British or French troops appear to be Brown Besses, however there are a couple of other types of musket that appear but I think they are both rather crude non firing replicas. One of them has brass barrel bands which I think is meant to be a Charleville, but it is pretty far off. This weapon can be seen in the background of the above cap, or you can see them in this cap from Sharpe's Sword: This cap also shows the other musket which I think is a non firing replica, which has a very abrupt angle at the front of the stock. --commando552 (talk) 18:22, 27 May 2016 (EDT)
