Timecop Custom Assault Pistol
This Custom Assault Pistol is an unusual customized submachine gun-style weapon that appears to have been custom made by Tom Felcan of Felcan Enterprises in British Columbia. The gun first appeared in the pilot episode of the Cobra TV series in September 1993, and subsequently in a second season episode of the Highlander TV series and the The X-Files first-season episode "Fallen Angel", both of which also debuted late in 1993. The weapon most notably appears in the 1994 film Timecop, which was the first feature film in which it appeared. There has been much speculation about this weapon, which has not yet been definitively identified. Some have opined that these custom built firearms were constructed from submachine guns with a front-mounted magazine such as the Kimel AP-9 or the Feather AT-9. It is also possible they were made due to the Canadian armorers lack of genuine submachine guns and machine pistols (such as the MP5K) in their inventory during the 1990s. Timecop was filmed in British Columbia, Canada, and these custom firearms would subsequently appear in other films and television series produced in the same region during the 1990s, including the film Rumble in the Bronx and series such as The X-Files, M.A.N.T.I.S., and Viper. These weapons are of an unknown variant, but have a SMG-style magazine and a top charging handle. Some variants feature a short smooth barrel and forend akin to a TEC-9 Mini (which would later be fitted with a shroud over the short barrel - compare the two images), others featured a lengthened barrel with shroud.
