Timecop Custom Assault Pistol

At the film's beginning, a Confederate patrol transporting gold during the time of the Civil War is ambushed by the Stranger armed with very strange looking and angular assault pistols. At the time of the film's production, these weapons were either imported or Canadian manufactured assault pistols unable to be imported into the U.S. as a result of the Assault Weapon Ban of 1994. Some have opined that these are custom built firearms or just dressed-up Kimel AP-9 pistols. The film was made in Vancouver, Canada, thus these custom firearms subsequently appear in film and television series produced in the same region, including the film Rumble in the Bronx and series such as The X-Files, Smallville and Stargate: Atlantis. These weapons are of an unknown variant.

Closeup of the assault pistols, some "claim" that these are dressed up AP9 pistols but that is not confirmed.
