Madsen problem

I think that these are Portugese Madsens M1950. Here are several good photos of this model. Its barrel is mostly like the ones in the movie. Portugese machine guns could easily appear in French movie. Greg-Z 06:47, 31 May 2012 (CDT)

It isn't a 1950 as that has a collar at the base of the barrel which has the rear sight and carry handle pivot built in, as opposed to this gun which only has the rear sight which is attached straight to the barrel. I couldn't find much information about Madsen models and what I could find was contradictory (I got the 1940 from world.guns.ru but looking at the picture again I think that is a misprint of 1950 judging by the bipod feet and rear sight), but going by that site I'm going to call it a 1946.--commando552 07:09, 31 May 2012 (CDT)

Mortar

I am 99% sure that this is a German 8cm Granatwerfer 34, can anybody else confirm? -Hchris

You are right. Another guess was a French 81mm Brandt but it has another shape of the muzzle. Greg-Z (talk) 14:19, 28 September 2014 (EDT)
