Saving Code

Rust is a 2013 survival game created by Facepunch studios, the creators of Garry's Mod. The game's inspiration comes from games such as DayZ, Minecraft, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Shotguns

Hand Cannon

The hand cannon is the most basic weapon in the game. It uses "Handmade Shells" which are most likely muzzle loaded (the weapon is lowered out of view after firing a shot and comes back up loaded) as ammunition and has no trigger or hammer mechanism. It is instead fired by striking a flint stone across the barrel, creating sparks which pass into a hole and ignite the powder in the shell. However, due to the unreliability of this method, the player will have to continue striking the barrel until the shell eventually goes boom. Strangely, the weapon does a high ammount of damage, although due to it's low accuracy and unreliable firing method, it is not an ideal weapon even for fresh spawns.

Pipe Shotgun

The second basic weapon in the game is the pipe shotgun, another hand crafted weapon. Unlike the hand cannon, the pipe shotgun actually has an iron sight and a trigger mechanism. It also fires a handmade shell which is loaded by folding down part of the weapon, and loading one handmade shell into a slot.

Handcannon identity

The "Handcannon" seems to be based off of this particular specimen, but I'm not sure if it's a strong enough connection (or a notable enough gun) that I can get away with adding it to the main page.
