Attack the Block is a 2011 British science fiction film written and directed by Joe Cornish (The Adventures of Tintin ) about a group of South London teenagers repelling an alien invasion. Almost all of the teenaged cast members, including lead John Boyega, were found either from auditioning local students or online, and for many, the film was their feature debut. The film was a critical hit, with much praise going to Boyega for his performance.
