Chicago P.D. is the 2014 television crime spinoff of the NBC series Chicago Fire. The series follows detectives who work out of the Special Intelligence Unit of the Chicago Police Department. Like Chicago Fire, the series was co-created by Dick Wolf, who was responsible for the series Law & Order and its spinoffs. The series also is set in the same universe as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, as evidenced by a Season 1 crossover episode with SVU. The series premiered in the US on NBC in January of 2014.
The following weapons were used in the television series Chicago P.D. - Season 1:
A SIG-Sauer P229R is the sidearm carried by Sergeant Henry "Hank" Voight (Jason Beghe). Sometimes it changes into a two-tone P229R.
Glock 17
The Glock 17 is the sidearm carried by the majority of the detectives in the Special Intelligence Unit of the Chicago PD including Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), and Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas). The Glock is also carried by the majority of the patrol officers on the show, including Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) and Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati).
Voight takes what appears to be a Kimber 1911 off a suspect and uses it to threaten him.
M4A1
M4A1-type rifles are used by all the Detectives on raids, usually used by Detective Alvin Olinsky and Detective Jay Halstead. Some of these have barrels different from the typical M4.
