Why in god's name did Drew Barymore sign up for this movie when she totally despises guns? It seems like a movie called "Guncrazy" would be one she would stay away from.

Beats me. While you try to figure that out, I think I'm going to go ask Sean Penn why he owns an SP89 and has a conceal carry permit (in California!) when he's one of the most leftist and, presumably, anti-gun actors in Hollywood (not an easy feat in The Land, no doubt). -MT2008
He's trying to make sure everyone is without a gun so he can overthrow us and rule the world! :) - Gunmaster45
Actually, while Sean Penn is a left-winger, he is so far left wing that he actually admires and pals around with the Castros and Hugo Chávez (I am not making this up), therefore it could be he actually really likes guns as they will allow him to caryout a 'glorious' Socialist revolution like those of his buddies. But in all seriousness, in the United States gun rights tend to be more a geographic issue rather than one relating to the political spectrum as many southern and western Democrat Polititians are pro-gun (or at least vote that way) while many north-eastern Republican politians are anti-gun.

Well why does it say Howard uses the M1911 for "murders"? He doesn't murder anyone in this movie, he shoots in self defense, the cops, especially corrupt parole officer Michael Ironside, are trying to murder him. Maybe the two scumbags driving that yellow Road Runner, but one pulls a knife, these miscreants have got it coming.

If you kill a police officer, that's murder. You can't kill a police officer and claim self-defense. They can get convicted of murdering you after the fact, but you cannot kill a cop in self-defense. If they're corrupt, you're screwed, because if you do shoot at/wound/kill an officer, you either get shot by other cops trying to arrest you, or sent to prison for murder. Also, why did the page get moved here?--Mandolin (talk) 18:50, 1 April 2014 (EDT)

The following weapons were used in the film GunCrazy:

GunCrazy (1992)

Smith & Wesson Model 686

Anita Minteer (Drew Barrymore) buys a Smith & Wesson Model 686 revolver and practices with it when she learns her convict pen pal likes to shoot guns so she can share a common interest. She ends up using it to shoot her mom's boyfriend after he rapes her then uses it throughout the film as her weapon of choice for several crimes including shooting a police officer. Howard (James LeGros) also uses it in the film's finale against the cops that have entered the house the two are holed up in.
