The Great Dictator
The Great Dictator was a 1940 biting satire and declaration against the rise of fascism that was first true talking picture made by noted silent film star Charlie Chaplin. Chaplin wrote, produced and directed the film, as well as taking on multiple roles, including the title character. The cast included Paulette Goddard, Jack Oakie, and Billy Gilbert.
