Airplane!
Airplane! is the 1980 comedy written and directed by the same team responsible for the Police Squad! television series and The Naked Gun trilogy of films. Spoofing such airline disaster films such as Zero Hour!, Airplane! featured several actors who had previously only been cast in serious roles, including Peter Graves, Robert Stack, Lloyd Bridges, and Leslie Nielsen. A sequel, Airplane II: The Sequel was released in 1982 without the participation of the original team.
The following firearms were used in the film Airplane!:
M1928 Thompson
A soldier in a painting (Bill Porter) being drawn by Ted Stryker (Robert Hays) is seen holding a baby and an M1928 Thompson.
Colt New Service
An old lady on the plane is seen holding a Colt New Service when passengers line up with various weapons to "calm down" Mrs. Hammon.
