Medal of Honor: Airborne

From Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video Games
Jump to navigation Jump to search

All of the weapons available for use in this game can get various upgrades depending on one's experience level in using it. For example the M1911A1 gets a quick draw holster, a match trigger and then, finally, "magnum" rounds.

Oddly enough even though the game has most of the weapons used by the 82nd Airborne during WW II the M1 Carbine (in either the standard or A1 Para Version) are never available in the game.

M1911A1

The main sidearm available to trooper "Boyd Travers" throughout the game

Mauser C96

File:Mauserc96.jpg

Available only as a choice in the final "Der Flakturm" level. With various upgrades(shoulder stock, 20 round mag) the weapon eventually becomes the 712 model with full auto capability.

    • Is also a "hidden" weapon during the "Operation Varsity" level of the game.**

M1 Garand

One of the selectable weapons throughout the game. Upgrades give it a match barrel, adjustable sights and a grenade launcher.

M1903 Springfield

The main sniper weapon for "Travers". Upgrades give it an improved bolt, stripper clip/variable power scope and finally a grenade launcher. This should make the weapon the 1903A4 version used as a sniper weapon later in the war.

Karabiner 98k

The main infantry weapon in the earlier stages of the game. Upgrades give it a match bolt, stripper clip reload and a "cup" grenade launcher.

Gewehr 43

Available midway through the game. This box fed semi-automatic rifle the Germans produced from 1943 on receives upgrades which give it a larger mag capacity, a variable powered telescopic sight and a cup style grenade launcher.

Browning Automatic Rifle

Given the date this weapon becomes available in the game (post Market-Garden)this is the 1918A2 model. The upgrades improve the recoil, give it adjustable sights and dual magazines. The weapon in the game comes without a bipod.

Sturmgewehr 44

Finds its' way into the later stages of the game the first "storm gun" (which became assault rifle) eventuall replaces the MP40, Karabiner 98k and Gewehr 43 in the hands of German troops. Upgrades give it a muzzle brake, a tactical scope and dual magazines.

Winchester Model 1912

Though never really issued for frontline combat use by the U.S. Army during WWII this weapon's upgrades give it increased accuracy, more stopping power (buckshot rounds) and some "stabbing" power, a bayonet mounted under the muzzle.

Thompson

Starts off as the M1 Thompson and has the more interesting upgrades of all the weapons. This is largely due to the fact that the "upgrades" actually retrofit the weapon eventually turning it into the M1928 model. This gives the weapon the classic "gangster" feel with the Cutts compensator, vertical foregrip and 50 round drum magazine.

MP40

The ubiquitous German weapon of WWII. The upgrades give a dual magazines, a 64 round magazine and, strangely enough, a dagger for melee attacks.

MG42

Available only as an emplaced weapon in the game this weapon is also seen (heavily modified) in the hands of the "Storm Elite".

It's not really "heavily" modified, it just has a side drum magazine and a carrying handle.

M18 Recoilless Rifle

One of the anachronistic weapons in this game. Although the M18 was developed towards the end of WWII it would not have been ready in time for the Normandy invasion (the only time it is available in the game). The upgrades give it a variable powered scope and increased ammo capacity.

Panzerschreck

Available from the "Market-Garden" stages onward. This was an evolution of the American M9 bazooka often coming with shaped charge warheads. Available as a "pick up" weapon in the game, not an optional load out weapon. Most famous for being used by the deadly Panzergrenaders.

Mk 2 hand grenade

The standard hand grenade of the Americans in the game. Eventually, with the proper weapon upgrades, you are able to launch them from the M1 Garand and the M1903 Springfield.

Model 24 Stielhandgranate

The standard hand grenade of the Axis forces.

In the case of both the Mk 2 hand grenade the Model 24 Stielhandgranate and Gammon Grenade all can be "cooked off" so they detonate more quickly.

Gammon Grenade

Appears about halfway through the game, upgrades give it larger amount that you can carry.
