Jormungand (named for the serpent in Norse mythology that grew so big that it wrapped around the world) is a twelve episode anime series based on the manga series of the same name by Keitarō Takahashi. It follows the exploits of Johnathan "Jonah" Mar, a child soldier recruited by Koko Hekmatyar to work for the black market side of HCLI, an international shipping corporation that secretly deals weapons all over the globe. The series is notable for the amount of research and detail put into both the weapons and the various military factions that appear throughout the series. The television adaptation began airing on April 10, 2012; a second season has already been greenlit and the first season has been licensed by Funimation for a North American release.

Before introducing him to the rest of her crew, Koko hands Jonah a Browning Hi-Power Mark III in "Gun Metal, Calico Road", which he continues to use as his primary sidearm.
Colt 1911A1
One of the Major Pollack's soldiers uses a 1911A1 as his sidearm.
Colt XSE
Koko gives Jonah a Colt XSE as a decoy weapon before their confrontation with Kroshkin in "Gun Metal, Calico Road." Mildred and Lew uses the XSE as their sidearms in "Pulsar".
Glock 17
Mao is armed with the Glock 17, first seen in "Pulsar".
Jonah is seen holding an AKMS rifle during a flashback of the time before he joined HCLI.
AKS-74U
A majority of the soldiers serving under Major Polluck are armed with AKS-74Us.
CAR-15
Some of the bodyguards are armed with CAR-15s near the Russian border in "Pulsar".
FN FNC
Jonah's primary weapon is an FN FNC rifle with tape wrapped around the stock struts.
Heckler & Koch G36K
Mao can be seen firing a Heckler & Koch G36K out a car sunroof during the opening credits. It serves as his main firearm.
Steyr AUG
"R" can be seen firing a Steyr AUG A1 out a car window during the opening credits.

M249 SAW paratrooper
Valmet uses a M249 Paratrooper SAW during the chase sequence in the first episode.
M61 Vulcan
A F-22 is armed with the M61 Vulcan in the first episode.
Yakushev-Borzov Yak-B
A Mil Mi-24 "Hind" equipped with a Yakushev-Borzov Yak-B Gatling gun is shown to illustrate the contents of a shipment from one of HCLI's competitors in "Gun Metal, Calico Road." Another one is seen in "Pulsar."

Lehm is seen firing a Remington 700PSS rifle during the opening sequence.

FIM-92A Stinger
One of Major Polluck's soldiers unloads what appears to be Stinger missile tubes.
FGM-148 Javelin
During the chase scene in the pilot episode, a Voshkod 6 operator tries to take out Koko and Jonah's car with an FGM-148 Javelin. Koko manages to correctly identify the weapon by just the sound the rocket makes when it detonates.
Other Weapons
M67 hand grenade
Jonah uses the blast from a M67 hand grenade to deflect an incoming 127mm rocket.
