Homicide: Life on the Street
The following weapons were used in the TV Series Homicide: Life on the Street:
Handguns
Glock 17/19
The standard issue to the Baltimore Police Department is the Glock 17 and the Glock 19, which at the time was standard issue in real life. Detectives appear to switch between Glock 17s and Glock 19s throughout the series. Glocks are carried by Detective John Munch (Richard Belzer), Detective Beau Felton (Daniel Baldwin), Detective Meldrick Lewis (Clark Johnson), Detective Mike Kellerman (Reed Diamond), Detective Tim Bayliss (Kyle Secor), Detective Frank Pembleton (Andre Braugher), Detective Stu Gharty (Peter Gerety), Detective Laura Ballard (Callie Thorne), Detective Paul Falsone (Jon Seda), and Captain Megan Russert (Isabella Hoffman), as well as most of the lesser officers and detectives. BPD officers nowadays use Glock 22s in real life. Lieutenant Al Giardello (Yaphet Kotto) briefly uses one in the episode "Fallen Heroes". In the episode "Fallen Heroes", Junior Bunk (Mekhi Phifer) takes a detective's Glock from his desk and uses it to kill three police officers in the Homicide Squad room. He then continues firing at other officers and detectives before being shot and killed. Of an interesting note, while most detectives fire their weapon using a two-handed grip, Detective Frank Pembleton often fires his Glock one-handed. Detectives Munch, Felton, and Falsone carry their Glocks in shoulder holsters, while all other detectives carry them in paddle holsters.
Colt Detective Special
Lieutenant Al Giardello (Yaphet Kotto) and Sergeant Kay Howard (Melissa Leo) both use nickel 3rd generation Colt Detective Specials. Det. Stanley Bolander (Ned Beatty) carries a blued 3rd generation DS. Various other minor detectives are also seen using nickel DSs.
Smith & Wesson Model 60
Sergeant Kay Howard uses a nickel Smith & Wesson Model 60 in an early episode.
Beretta 92FS Centurion
Det. Tim Bayliss (Kyle Secor)carries a Beretta 92FS Centurion as his sidearm in the first few episodes of Season 1, before switching to a Glock.
SIG-Sauer P226
Det. Frank Pembleton carries a SIG-Sauer P226 as his sidearm in Season 1, before switching to a Glock.
Smith & Wesson Model 15
Smith & Wesson Model 15s are carried by BPD officers in Season 1. Officer Chris Thormann (Lee Tergesen) is seen carrying one in flashbacks in the episode "Double Blind".
Smith & Wesson Model 67
Some of the African Revival Movement members in the episode "Narcissus" have Smith & Wesson Model 67s.
Colt Python
Officer Chris Thormann (Lee Tergesen) is seen with a Colt Python in one episode. Other uniforms carry it as well.
Taurus PT92CS
A Taurus PT92CS appears in the episode "Secrets".
Astra Terminator
An Astra Terminator appears in the episode "Secrets", and is misidentified as a ".44 Caliber Smith & Wesson". The cylinder release latch and the grips, however, ID it as an Astra and not a Smith & Wesson.
Beretta 92FS
A Beretta 92FS appears in the episode "Fallen Heroes: Part 1".
Beretta 92FS Inox
A Beretta 92FS Inox is identified as the murder weapon in the episode "Saigon Rose". Gordon Pratt (Steve Buscemi) uses two Beretta Inox's to shoot Detectives Felton (Daniel Baldwin), Bolander (Ned Beatty), and Howard (Melissa Leo) in the episode "The City that Bleeds". Another Beretta 92FS Inox is seen used by Luther Mahoney (Erik Dellums) in the episode "Deception".
Taurus PT92
A thug uses a stainlessTaurus PT92 in the episode "Fallen Heroes: Part 2".
Smith & Wesson 5906
A Smith & Wesson 5906 appears in the episode "Fallen Heroes: Part 1".
M1911-type
Different kinds of M1911A1-type pistols appear throughout the series, with different finishes and calibers.
AMT Hardballer
Harry Prentice (Wilford Brimley) uses an AMT Hardballer in "See No Evil" (S02E02). Another AMT Hardballer (possibly the same prop) is owned by "Kid Funkadelic" (Antonio D. Charity) and is the murder weapon in "Bop Gun" (S02E01).
Walther PPK
In the episode "Wu's on First?", a thug is seen pulling a Walther PPK on Det. Kellerman (Reed Diamond), and his brothers Drew (Eric Stoltz) and Greg (Tate Donovan).
Smith & Wesson Model 629
A Smith & Wesson Model 629 appears in the episode "The Damage Done".
Luger P08
A Luger P08 appears in the episode "Shaggy Dog, City Goat", and is seen held by Det. Ballard (Callie Thorne).
IMI Desert Eagle
Junior Bunk (Mekhi Phifer) uses a chrome IMI Desert Eagle to shoot at BPD Homicide Detectives in the episode "Blood Ties".
Remington 1866 Derringer
A Remington 1866 Derringer is identified as the murder weapon in the episode "Justice".
Smith & Wesson Model 686
Bayliss' cousin, Jim (David Morse), uses a Smith & Wesson Model 686 to shoot a suspected burglar in the episode "Colors".
Smith & Wesson Model 66
Det. Kellerman is seen carrying a Snubnose Smith & Wesson Model 66 in the episode "Wu's on First?".

BPD QRT officers are seen using Heckler & Koch MP5A3s in most episodes, most notably in "The City that Bleeds". In later seasons, they have Navy Trigger Groups and Forelights.

In one episode, the Daisy Airsoft Model 15's stand in for Heckler & Koch MP5K as the standard weapon for the BPD QRT Unit.

In the episode "Hostage Part 1 & Part 2", genuine Heckler & Koch MP5Ks appear in the hands of QRT Officers.
