Talk:Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days
First game was unshiny at all, why would they make another one.
It was a financial success. Poeple liked the story and the characters but the gameplay was bad ...
AFAIR, game had 6.5 - 7.5 scores on major review sites. And plot was overfilled with cliches. AK74 was the only good thing about the game.
As much as I like to say otherwise, Kane & Lynch was pretty flawed game. I'm still looking forward the sequel, fingers crossed. --AlkoTanko 13:47, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Hey, who the hell took my picture of the track pants wearing loser out? BeardedHoplite 20:19, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
Mystery pistol
Would someone mind identifying this? I think it is the Beretta. BeardedHoplite 19:00, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
Definitely a Beretta.
Kane & Lynch
For those who've played this game. Which one is Kane, and which is Lynch?
I'm confused about this new movie Adaptation with Bruce Willis as Kane and
can't help think he should be playing Lynch. Michael Biehn should play Kane.
Lynch is the balding fellow with shotgun, other one is Kane (who looks like he has grown some hair since first game, odd).
Clearly, the case he stole from Retomoto was filled with Rogaine.
In the screenshot of Lynch holding a hostage, i have my doubts that the gun is a beretta, does anybody have any suggestions what it is? BeardedHoplite 01:17, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
It's a Norinco model 77B, you can tell on account of the unusual shaped trigger guard, which doubles as a one handed slide-cycling mechanism, you depress the front of the trigger guard and it causes the slide to cycle back. Doesn't exactly seem useful under stress, it would take a lot of force from just your trigger finger to manipulate the thing, even if you could reach it without adjusting your grip, but whaddya gonna do. --Toadvine 23:37, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
whos decision was it to cast jamie foxx as lynch?
The unknown SMG is a Steyr MPi 69 or 81
Beta Access
Hey, I will have a beta of Dog Days tomorrow. I will confirm most of the weapons
Could someone identify the shotgun in the limited edition picture BeardedHoplite 04:48, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
Looks like some sort of 870 to me/ ShootingLiberal
I could've swore the tan framed handgun in the game was one of those Smith and Wesson M&P's in .45, not a Springfield XD. --Toadvine 18:26, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
Thoughts of the game
You get used to the very grainy film style and the shaky camera angle. It does annoy the hell out of you, but there is something about these characters and what resembles a plot that hooks you. Excalibur01 01:55, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
I agree man, the story is damn short but the plot is a frantic one that doesn't let up over it's short lenght. BeardedHoplite 01:57, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
The plot DOES feel very rushed, but it's fast paced. It keeps you hooked and it's very simple. But the ending was a bit off. All you do is run for a plane and there's no closure or ending scene. Excalibur01 05:00, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the spoilers, dude. Dannysaysnoo 13:59, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Just preparing you for the blank ending Excalibur01 19:08, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
There's also been some complaints in reviews about the poor accuracy of the guns, coupled with low damage. I'm playing at normal difficulty and I have no trouble taking down enemies even with handguns. And as for the accuracy, well, some of the guns aren't exactly known for their pinpoint accuracy, nevermind that it's Lynch you're playing with: the nutjob with a gun whos entire idea of "tactics" is to draw his weapon and start rapidly pulling the trigger.--AlkoTanko 14:09, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
I think IGN managed to sum up Dog Days nicely http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/112/1123129p1.html BeardedHoplite 11:21, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
The Tokarev TT-33 might be a Type 54
Look at the little lump near the rear, it looks like there would be a manual safety on the other side.
- Well, this takes place in Shanghai, so it's not only possible, it's probable. It would make sense. I'm guessing its inclusion is more of "The Developers liked Hard Boiled" than "It makes sense to be here", but even if the former is true, so is the latter. To quote Pappy from Gen Kill, "Even a broken-ass clock is right twice a day". Also, isn't the star on the grip covers only on the Type 54?-protoAuthor 16:03, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
The star can be on Soviet Tokarevs too. You have to look carefully at the markings to tell. Hughjefender
Police revolver
Does anyone else like this revolver for some reason? I do and I don't really know why. I know Chinese weapons are (no offense) not exactly known for their quality and worksmanship, but this 9mm revolver just seems cool to me. --ColonelTomb 18:04, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't like it. I always pictured revolvers as big powerful weapons in .38, .357, or .44. A 9mm wheelgun, while effective I'm sure, just seems sorta wimpy to me. ShootingLiberal 20:53, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
I think it's pretty cool, although I always go for the SW .45 in Fragile Alliance. Wouldn't it need a moon clip to load though?
Well, that's what I thought but I think it actually uses a different type of 9mm. I'm not sure but I'll post the link to the world.guns page (they have a lot of info about it)http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg199-e.htm --ColonelTomb 20:01, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
Hmm...apparently it uses a .38 S&W-like 9mm, not quite sure what that means. BeardedHoplite 23:56, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
It's only used by Chinese Police apparently, kinda strange that they haven't exported it like a lot of other stuff Norinco makes. Hughjefender
It looks like a piece of crap, and besides most people are buying semos so i doubt it will be used as an export.
I'm not sure why the Chinese police don't just use Tokarevs. A 9mm revolver seems a bit dumb. Hughjefender Actually from what I read about this thing, the Chinese specifically designed it so that it doesn't do as much damage to suspects and that in case of capture by criminals, the gun can't easily kill people. Beretta 92FS
The ingame gun has a 12 round magazine capacity, so wouldn't that make it a .40 caliber? --ColonelTomb 01:03, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
- Not necessarily. Kane and Lynch could just be loading all their mags with 12 rounds. I mean, you can't really identify an movie or game gun by its capacity, what with people not knowing things and game balance issues. Also, I'm gonna be putting up some more "glamour" shots from trailers. I wish I owned this game, because I love the demo so much, but my PS3 won't accept Blu-Rays anymore. and my laptop can't run it.-protoAuthor 16:00, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
Well, I suppose that's true. However, the ingame gun seems to pack quite a bit of punch, as in mostly achieving 1-shot-kills if you aim for the center of mass, whereas some of the other pistols (i.e. the N77) take 2 or 3 center of mass shots to take someone down. --ColonelTomb 16:14, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
So, its rather a reduced capacity for balance (like we need more needless balancing) or a 96.
