Nice, but where's the trigger?

Just Cause 2 is a 2010 open world action-adventure developed by Avalanche Studios and Eidos Interactive, published by Square Enix. The story follows the character of Rico Rodriguez as he is sent into the fictional island state of Panau by an organisation simply known as "The Agency", tasked with toppling it's current leader, "Baby" Panay. The game is spread out over a huge area, the islands being beautifully rendered and designed, having every area in the map able to be traveled too by the player with ease. Weapons are most easily obtained from the Panauan Military, which are present throughout the islands. Rico can carry a total of two smaller weapons (In holsters on both hips), and one larger 'heavy' weapon (slung over his back). The small weapons, i.e. the Desert Eagle, S&W M500, Sawn-off double barrel and FAMAE SAF, can be dual wielded, using any combination of the four weapon types. All the weapons and vehicles can be upgraded over the course of the game using upgrade points found in the game world, or earned by completing missions.

The following firearms appear in the video game Just Cause 2:

Handguns

Desert Eagle Mark VII

Appears as the "Pistol". It can be identified as the Mark VII by the safety lever and its lack of scope rails as featured on the Mark XIX. The true calibre cannot be determined: The real Desert Eagle holds 9 rounds in .357, 8 in .44 Magnum and 7 in .50 AE, while the in-game version starts out with a 12 round magazine.

Smith & Wesson Model 500

This Revolver is based on the Smith & Wesson Model 500, but the in-game model has some incorrect features which include: the cylinder latch being too low, the barrel seems to be based on Taurus Tracker revolvers, minus the compensator ports, and finally the cylinder holds 6 shots instead of 5 (see image below), which is funny, because in-game it starts out with a 7 shot capacity.

Submachine Guns

FAMAE SAF

Dubbed the "Submachine Gun" ingame. The weapon was modelled without any kind of stock. The real weapon on the other hand can be acquired, for example, with a folding stock or a fixed buttstock.

Assault Rifles

Colt M4A1 Carbine

Appears ingame as the "Assault Rifle". The magazine capacity can be gradually upgraded from 20 to 30 rounds across 6 levels. The ingame version lacks a carry handle, has a free floating handguard and a tubular metal buttstock with cheek rest. Resembles highly the Brazilian IMBEL MB-2, a copy of the M4.

'Bull's Eye' Assault Rifle (Colt M4A1 Mocked up as H&K XM8 Variant)

A DLC weapon, the Bull's Eye features a scope for increased long-range effectiveness. Upon closer inspection of the model, It appears Edios simply took the M4 model and grafted several embellishments on top of it, as defining features of the M4 can be picked out from the new rifle. Restricted to semi-automatic fire only.

Sniper Rifles

FPK / PSL Sniper Rifle

A FPK / PSL Sniper Rifle with modified shoulder stock and synthetic foregrip appears as the "Sniper Rifle". Interestingly, enemy snipers are frequently seen using this weapon in conjunction with Laser Aiming Modules, which are never actually present on the rifles.

Shotguns

Unknown Sawn-Off Double Barrel Side-by-Side Shotgun

An unknown Sawn Off Double Barrel shotgun is used by the Panauan Millitary, and can be seen in conjunction with the larger pump shotgun. For some odd reason, Rico and enemies are capable of firing three (!) shots from the gun before having to reload, despite the gun having only two barrels. Completely devastating at close range, especially when dual-wielded.

FN Tactical Police Shotgun

The 'pump shotgun' in the game is based off of an FN Tactical Police Shotgun, incorporating design cues from the Benelli M4 Super 90 as well. Found throughout Panau.

Machine Guns

FN M249

The M249 is called the "Machine Gun". Mounted on patrol boats and Jeeps, and also able to be picked up and hand-fired by Rico. The M249 and M134 Minigun share a mounting which includes an ammo box; this is not part of the weapon model, meaning that when carried the M249 has no ammunition drum. It also lacks a stock, but retains the mounting hinge point on the rear of the SAW.

Explosives

C4 Plastic Explosive

Found all over Panau, and on the Black Market. Remotely detonated explosive that can be affixed to almost any surface or vehicle in Panau.

Heavy Weaponry

M136 AT4

Simply named "Rocket Launcher". Holds an unrealistic 3 rockets at upgrade level 1. "Baby" Panay carries an even more unrealistic version which is semi-automatic and never reloads.

GE M134 Minigun

The GE M134 can be found mounted in emplacements, on patrol boats and helicopters. It's most prominent appearance is during the mission "The White Tiger". The M134 in emplacements can be removed and carried around similar to the GE M134 handheld Minigun in Terminator 2. Although in Just Cause 2 the weapon retains it's spade grips along with the added pistol grip.

M202 FLASH Rocket Launcher

The M202 FLASH quad-barreled rocket launcher is a weapon contained in the 'Boom Pack' DLC. When fired, it fires one rocket at a time, to a maximum of 4 before reloading.

Standalone M203 Grenade Launcher

A fictional weapon called the 'Cluster Bomb Launcher' appears as part of the 'Boom Pack' DLC. it appears to be a magazine-fed M203 mounted on a stand alone frame unit. When fired, it fires several grenade-like projectiles that explode after a few seconds.

Fictional Grenade Launcher

A Fictional Grenade Launcher exists in the game, borrowing elements such as the revolving cylinder design from the Milkor MGL. The design is small enough to be fired with one hand, allowing for dual-wielding.

Fictional Rocket Launcher

A Fictional rocket launcher that may have been based off the AT4 was introduced as a DLC weapon, the 'Multi-Lock Missile Launcher'. Able to lock on to up to four targets remotely, and fire four independent homing missiles at the targets. Oddly, it fires them all from one barrel, and can ripple-fire all four of the missiles in quick succession without Rico loading a new rocket into the tube.
