Just Cause 2
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
Just Cause 2 is a 2010 open world action-adventure developed by Avalanche Studios and Eidos Interactive, published by Square Enix. The story follows the character of Rico Rodriguez as he is sent into the fictional island state of Panau by an organisation simply known as "The Agency", tasked with toppling it's current leader, "Baby" Panay.
The following firearms appear in the video game Just Cause 2:
Handguns
Desert Eagle Mark VII
Appears as the "Pistol". It can be identified as the Mark VII by the safety lever and its lack of scope rails as featured on the Mark XIX. The true calibre cannot be determined: The real Desert Eagle holds 9 rounds in .357, 8 in .44 Magnum and 7 in .50 AE, while the in-game version starts out with a 12 round magazine.
Smith & Wesson Model 500
This Revolver is based on the Smith & Wesson Model 500, but the in-game model has some incorrect features which include: the cylinder latch being too low, the barrel seems to be based on Taurus Tracker revolvers, minus the compensator ports, and finally the cylinder holds 6 shots instead of 5 (see image below), which is funny, because in-game it starts out with a 7 shot capacity.
Submachine Guns
FAMAE SAF
Dubbed the "Submachine Gun" ingame. The weapon was modelled without any kind of stock. The real weapon on the other hand can be acquired, for example, with a folding stock or a fixed buttstock.
Rifles
Colt M4A1 Carbine
Appears ingame as the "Assault Rifle". The magazine capacity can be gradually upgraded from 20 to 30 rounds across 6 levels. The ingame version lacks a carry handle, has a free floating handguard and a tubular metal buttstock with cheek rest.
FPK / PSL Sniper Rifle
A FPK / PSL Sniper Rifle with modified shoulder stock and synthetic foregrip appears as the "Sniper Rifle". Interestingly, enemy snipers are frequently seen using this weapon in conjunction with Laser Aiming Modules, which are never actually present on the rifles.
Machine Guns
FN M249
The M249 is called the "Machine Gun". Mounted on patrol boats and Jeeps, and also able to be picked up and hand-fired by Rico. The M249 and M134 Minigun share a mounting which includes an ammo box; this is not part of the weapon model, meaning that when carried the M249 has no ammunition drum. It also lacks a stock, but retains the mounting hinge point on the rear of the SAW.
Explosives
Type 97 hand grenade
The games resident fragmentation grenade. This appears to be a Type 97 hand grenade with a M26 fuze assembly and spoon.
Heavy Weaponry
M136 AT4
Simply named "Rocket Launcher". Holds an unrealistic 3 rockets at upgrade level 1. "Baby" Panay carries an even more unrealistic version which is semi-automatic and never reloads.
GE M134 Minigun
The GE M134 can be found mounted in emplacements, on patrol boats and helicopters. It's most prominent appearance is during the mission "The White Tiger". The M134 in emplacements can be removed and carried around similar to the GE M134 handheld Minigun in Terminator 2. Although in Just Cause 2 the weapon retains it's spade grips along with the added pistol grip.
