Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a 2011 video game developed by Eidos Interactive and published by Square-Enix. The third game in the Deus Ex series, it is a prequel to the original, and is set in the year 2027 as controversial "human augmentation" technology begins to become widely available. Players take on the role of former SWAT officer turned private security guard Adam Jensen, who is horribly maimed during an attack on his employers, augmentation company Sarif Industries, by mysterious terrorists. Saved from death and rebuilt with his company's technology, he begins to search for answers as to who attacked that night and why.
The following weapons can be seen in the game Deus Ex: Human Revolution:
Overview
The game features a grid inventory into which any number of weapons which will physically fit can be placed, with a quick-access wheel (console) or bar (PC) allowing selection between weapons. Many of the game's weapons are clearly fictional, including a variety of energy guns, and others are "futurised" modern weapons or hybrid frankenguns. Totally real weapons are limited to being shown incidentally; in photographs, on book covers and suchlike.
The game features a weapon modification system where guns can have generic upgrades for magazine size, reload speed and damage added, as well as up to three special upgrades such as suppressors or laser aiming units. The latter type tend to physically alter the weapon model, while the former typically do not.
Weapons
Steiner-Bisley Zenith
The Zenith is a polymer semi-automatic 10mm pistol developed by a fictional German weapon manufacturer, Steiner-Bisley. It is equipped with a R.I.S. and has a 10-round magazine. The Zenith can accept the suppressor and laser aiming module mods, and has a unique mod allowing it to fire armour-piercing bullets. It appears to be a "futurised" M1911-based pistol, with aesthetics from the Walther P99.
Stasiuk Arms Hurricane TMP-18
The Hurricane TMP-18 (Tactical Machine Pistol Model 18) is a fully-automatic submachine gun made by Stasiuk Arms, Inc. It fires 9mm bullets from a 20-round magazine which can be upgraded to hold 30 bullets. The gun is based on the Steyr TMP with an Heckler & Koch MP5 styled buttstock and iron sights. The charging handle is on the top and seems to be based on the Uzi's charging handle. The handguard is borrowed from the Z-M LR 300 assault rifle. Can be upgraded with hi-cap magazines and compensator to reduce recoil.
Huntsman Silverback
The Huntsman Silverback is a break-action double barreled shotgun that will appear only in the "Augmented" (Limited) Edition of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It cannot be modified.
Steiner-Bisley FR-27 SFR
The FR-27 SFR (Sanction Flechette Rifle) is an assault rifle based on the FAMAS, with parts borrowed from the H&K G36C. In the game's fiction, it was developed by the Düsseldorf-based arms manufacturer Steiner-Bisley. It fires flechette rounds, much like the Heckler & Koch G11.
The FR-27 features an unusual break-open loading action similar to the hinged upper of an AR-15 pattern rifle, with the magazine (or possibly en-bloc clip) inserted into the open body of the weapon just in front of the trigger group and seemingly feeding upwards. This means that despite appearances, the weapon does not in fact have a bullpup layout. The structure under the barrel which appears to be a launcher actually serves as the rather oversized housing for the weapon's laser aiming module mod.
AIG Asymmetric Warrior ASW338LM
The Longsword ERSR (Extreme Range Sniper Rifle) is a bolt-action sniper rifle with a built-in suppressor. It is available only in the "Augmented" edition of the game. The weapon seems to be based on the AIG Asymmetric Warrior ASW338LM, but lacks the folding stock and has what appears to be a gas tube under the barrel; rather an odd feature for a bolt-action weapon. In the game's fiction it is manufactured by a company called Steiner-Bisley.
SRM Arms Model 1208
The Widowmaker TX is a 12-gauge semi-automatic combat shotgun. It is manufactured by Military Arms of Ostrava (MAO) - a fictional firearms manufacturer company in Czech Republic. It can also fire powerful "anti-mech" shells that do extra damage against enemy robots. It appears to be based on the SRM Arms Model 1208 semi-automatic shotgun with a folding foregrip added.
M404 Heavy Rifle
The M404 HR is 5.56mm handheld minigun based on the M134 Minigun, manufactured in the game's fiction by "Kaiga", a Russian company. It has a chainsaw-grip but only three barrels and fires 5.56x45mm bullets. In the final game the M404 has been greatly re-imagined from this early version and drops almost all design elements taken from the M134, now featuring a partial shroud around the barrel cluster and a more conventional rifle-style stock and grip arrangement; this version is manufactured by the fictional "Mustang Arms" instead. The final game version uses a rather undersized 100-round helical magazine mounted underneath the barrel cluster.
