Animal Kingdom (2010)
Animal Kingdom is a 2010 crime drama set in Melbourne. Loosely based on the real-life story of the Pettingill family and the Walsh Street Shootings in which two police officers were murdered, Animal Kingdom is about 17 year old Joshua 'J' Cody (James Frecheville) who finds himself living with his grandmother 'Smurf' and her sons when his mother dies after overdosing on heroin, and is caught in the middle when tensions between the Cody family and the police explode.
The following weapons can be seen in the film Animal Kingdom:
Sidearms
Taurus PT92AF
Craig (Sullivan Stapleton) hands a Taurus PT92AF to 'J' (James Frecheville) to scare off a Lebanese thug. It is later used by a Victorian SOG (Special Operations Group) Officer and 'J'.
Glock 17
The Glock 17 is used by Police Officers in the Witness Protection Program.
Smith & Wesson Model 10
The standard issue weapon of the Victoria Police Force, the Smith & Wesson Model 10, is used by numerous Police Officers during the film. Apparently in the real Walsh Street shootings, one of the murdered police officers was reportedly executed with his Model 10. The Model 10 has since been replaced in service by the Smith & Wesson M&P.
Shotguns
12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun
An unknown 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun, appearing to be a sawn-off model, is used by Darren Cody (Luke Ford) to shoot the two police officers.
Ithaca 37
Craig (Sullivan Stapleton) uses a Ithaca Model 37 attempting to escape the Police.
Remington 870 Folder
The corrupt Police Officers led by Detective Randall Roach (Justin Rosniak) use Remington 870 Folder shotguns in the raid on 'J's house in witness protection.
Rifles
M4A1 Carbine
The M4A1 Carbine is carried by SOG officers.
