F.E.A.R.: First Encounter Assault Recon (2005)

F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) is a horror-themed first person shooter developed by Monolith and published by Vivendi/Sierra in 2005. The player assumes the role of Point Man, a member of the F.E.A.R. team who possesses superhuman reflexes. The story evolves around Paxton Fettel, who has taken control of a team of clone supersoldiers, called "Replica soldiers". The members of F.E.A.R. in conjunction with SFOD-D (Delta Force) must try to stop Fettel before it is too late.

The following weapons appear in F.E.A.R. and its expansions:

Heckler & Koch USP45

The primary handgun of the game is a H&K USP chambered for .45 ACP. In-game it is called the Rakow AT-14 and can be dual wielded. It is incorrectly depicted as having a magazine capacity of 18 rounds instead of 12 like the real USP45, only the 9mm version using magazines with H&K's extended floor-plates can hold 18 rounds. Another oddity is that it's modeled with a tall target front sight and the standard height rear sight.

Special Weapons MP-10 9mm Carbine

While most people believe this weapon to be an MP5A3, the weapon is actually based more off of an MP5 knock-off called the MP-10. In-game it features a mounted holographic sight and a retractable buttstock. However in real life, no such buttstock exists. It is called Sumak RPL in the game.

Heckler & Koch SL8

A heavily modified SL8 sporting rifle makes it into the game. It is the Primary assault rifle of the game, it is fully-automatic, given a Beta-C Drum Magazine (odd, considering it only holds 45 rounds), and an M14-style rear aperture sight. Ingame it is called the Rakow G2A2.

IMI Tavor TAR-21

An IMI Tavor TAR-21 makes an appearance in the game. It utilizes a 3X scope, and is restricted to 3-round burst fire. Called the Baksha ASP Rifle in the game.

Franchi SPAS-12

The Franchi SPAS-12 has an unrealistic 12-shell magazine capacity rather than it's real counterpart's 8. Fans of the Gibbing system will find this gun to their likes. In F.E.A.R. it is called the Vollmer VK-12.

Fragmentation grenades used by Replica forces and ATC guards. These grenades explode on contact, and it is also possible to shoot them in the air (using slow-mo).
