Superman: The Movie
Superman: The Movie is the 1978 film adaptation of the Superman comic book series. The film was directed by Richard Donner (Lethal Weapon) and starred Marlon Brando as Superman's father Jor-El, Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor and Christopher Reeve as Superman/Clark Kent. An extended version of the film was released on DVD in 2001. Reeve would return as the Man of Steel in three sequels: Superman II, Superman III and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.

In the extended version, Remote controlled Sterling SMGs with 68 round magazines are used by Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) when he tests if Superman is immune to bullets.
