is it just me or does the "1911" look like the bore is too small to be a .45? Could it be a Star Model B instead? 67.193.240.76

Actually it seems to be an M1911. It could be an M1911 chambered in .38 super which were available back in the day. Many of these were converted (very easily) to fire 9mm blanks. In the older days, it was hard to blank adapt M1911s to fire .45 acp blanks reliably and many of the M1911s you see in old war movies were 9mm guns. Nighthawks was filmed during a time when these 9mm M1911s were plentiful. MoviePropMaster2008
still, shouldn't that be something that should be mentioned on the page?
Why? It's just speculation and it's being talked about here on the discussion page. Even if those 1911's were the 38 Super versions it can't be proven. And they are 1911's. --Jcordell 02:19, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
The bores definitely look too small, making this not just speculation. Further, other pages on IMFDB make the distinction between various models of the 1911 series and the differences between them. As such, wouldn't it make sense to hold this page up to the same standard?
No. --Jcordell 21:39, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
