Who Am I?

Name: Josh

Age: 22

State: California

Me described in a nutshell

So my name is Josh, and I come from the hot and sunny state of California... yeah yeah I know, one of the most pro-liberal states in the union with crazy wildfires, shit weather, RESTRICTIVE gun laws, and will supposedly fall into the ocean and join Hawaii in 2012...

Ok, now that I got those god-awful jokes out of my system, I guess I will tell you more about myself.

I am your simple, average-joe Californian who happens to be a gun-lover. I discovered this site in the summer of 2009 when I was searching for what kind of weapon the Joker used in the movie The Dark Knight, and after a time of some anonymous editing of picture captions here on the site, I succumbed to peer pressure and created my own account here on IMFDB.

I currently do not own any firearms at the moment, but I am an airsofter. I have been playing airsoft for about a year now, and I own 5 airsoft firearms, one shotgun and 4 pistols. The shotgun and 2 of my pistols are spring-powerd, while my other 2 pistols are gas (CO2) powered. My airsoft guns are modeled after the following real-world firearms: Mossberg 500 shotgun, the Walther PPK, the Mauser C96, the AMT Hardballer M1911 variant, and the Smith & Wesson M&P40. I am currently not a part of any airsoft team, I just play airsoft in the front and back yard of my home which I converted into an obstacle course and set up targets using soda cans for the fun of it. And if you think airsoft is for kids only and that we need to 'grow up and buy a real gun', I want you all to realize that both the United States military and now local state law enforcement train with airsoft before firing and training with the real deal. So if you give me some snarky comment telling me to 'get a real gun airsoft noob', I will let you know that you are also insulting the brave men and women who fight and defend your constitutional rights and freedoms, and that you are also insulting the brave men and women who put their lives on the line for you so that you can sleep safely in your neighborhood at night. Heed this warning now so that way I don't have to deal with an endless debate against you airsoft haters.

Other than that, I am pretty much an all-around, fun-loving guy. Laters.

Favorite Films

I have WAY too many favorite films to list, but I will try to narrow it down to these films:

Falling Down - Michael Douglas at his best

Cloverfield - If you are going to watch this movie, don't watch it on a HUGE TV screen, watch it on a smaller screen

Watchmen - 90% faithful to the comic

The Punisher (2004) - Because it actually came close to being what the Punisher is all about

Heat - EPIC bank robbery + street shootout

Saving Private Ryan - Perhaps the best war film of all time

Road to Perdition - One of the most underrated mob films of this century

Batman Begins - Definitely a good reboot to a once-dead franchise

The Dark Knight - Pretty good sequel, if only it's fanboys weren't so crazy in their worshipping of this film...

The Matrix - Oh come on, it had some good shootouts

The Matrix Reloaded - EPIC freeway chase and shootout

The Matrix Revolutions - Good shootout reminiscent of the lobby shootout from the first film

Tomb Raider - Yeah, surprised?

Black Hawk Down - Good war film

I Am Legend - Eh... this was so-so in my book, but ok nevertheless

28 Days Later - Hey, at least the tried a new take on the zombie genre!

28 Weeks Later - Was pretty decent, and it was interesting seeing it from the U.S. military's perspective in the film as well

Night of the Living Dead (1968) - One of the granddaddies of the zombie genre in film!

Dawn of the Dead (1978) - Another GREATEST movie sequel of all time

Dawn of the Dead (2004) - Not a bad remake, but it could have been a bit better

Day of the Dead (1985) - Awesome plot, great bad guy who gets it the worst in the end

Land of the Dead - Pretty good comeback for George Romero

Diary of the Dead - Eh... I think it was copying Cloverfield a bit too much...

Survival of the Dead - This one was pretty damn good

Star Wars - Who doesn't like Star Wars?

The Iron Giant - Pretty good animated film

The Terminator - The only film (as far as I know) where Arnold is the ultimate bad guy!

Terminator 2: Judgment Day - One of the GREATEST movie sequels of all time!

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines - Eh... some people love it, some people hate it.

Terminator Salvation - Not too bad. At least it came closer to having heart to it than T3 did.

Iron Man - Wow...

Iron Man 2 - Even better!

Transformers - Not as bad as people like to think it is

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Pretty decent sequel, but a bit too long and full of overrated sex/drug jokes

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra - Pretty good... I must say...

Bad Boys - Pretty good

Bad Boys II - Pretty decent sequel

Public Enemies - Awesome

Full Metal Jacket - Best movie with a former U.S. Marine Gunnery Sergeant!

I will eventually put some more films on here that are my favorites, but other than that, that is the best I can come up with.

Favorite Guns

Wow... this is a pretty difficult one... but if I had to narrow it down, then these would be my selected choices:

M1911A1 - Perhaps the BEST pistol EVER made, PERIOD.

HK416 - Because you can now shoot a gun that has been waterlogged

Mauser C96 - Brilliant design and overall look/feel

M1 Garand - The best friend of an infantryman

Walther P99 - At least it's better than owning a Glock firearm

Tokarev TT-33 - A good Russian-made pistol, and has a great look/feel to it

Smith & Wesson Model 500 - If I saw a bear coming after me, ready to kill me, I would use one of these

M1928A1 Thompson - Because you know you are a badass when you have one of these ;)

Jericho 941 - The gun that Jesus would use as his backup weapon (His main weapon would be an M1911)

AK-47 - An assault rifle that does not easily foul up in the sand, water, mud or dirt

M16A4 - Eh... I think it looks pretty cool. But I'd only use this gun if I were fighting in a city street, not in a harsh, weathered environment.

Not so-favorite Guns

Glock - Come on folks, Glocks may look pretty cool, but they are OVERRATED! Plus, they feel very fragile... like they could break easily... hmm...

Beretta 92 - Perhaps one of the WORST handguns EVER made. I handled an Inox and an M9 once, and it felt like the damn things were made out of sheet metal and would break in my hands!

XM8 - They call this thing the 'next-generation of assault rifles'? Please... why make things more complicated instead of being happy with something that is more simpler and easier to use?

TEC-9 - This gun may look intimidating, but it is a poorly designed weapon that should have gone through it's paces instead of being one of the most short-lived weapons of the 80s-90s era. I won't deny that it had an interesting look, but it failed as a weapon overall.
