Lethal Weapon 2
The following weapons were used in the film Lethal Weapon 2:
Beretta 92FS
Just as in the original Lethal Weapon, the Beretta 92FS is the primary sidearm of Detective Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson), and as such is used frequently throughout the film. In a memorable scene, Riggs empties the magazine of his Beretta into one of the main villain's henchmen while saying the names of his friends and loved ones the villain and his henchmen had killed. Other LAPD detectives are also seen with Berettas. TRIVIA: On the cover of the movie as well as the movie poster, the image is obviously reversed as the slide release and take down lever are on the wrong side in the photo. It is possible that for some reason in the photo Mel Gibson held the pistol in his left hand, although throughout all 4 movies he uses it in his right. The flip might have been due to that, to avoid hand confusion (although it led to gun confusion). It's also noteworthy that the gun is empty. The tipped up slide release lever means that the clip is empty.
Smith & Wesson Model 19
The Smith & Wesson Model 19 appears as the primary weapon of Detective Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover). In a move reminiscent of the first Lethal Weapon film, Murtaugh can be seen rolling his neck before taking out the main villain with a single shot from his weapon.
Smith & Wesson 5906
In addition to his Smith & Wesson Model 19, Murtaugh also carries a Smith & Wesson 5906 in a shoulder holster.
Beretta 92SB-C
During the raid of the South African residence, Detective Collins (Grand L. Bush) can be seen wielding a Beretta 92SB-C. Not a 92FS Centurion or a 92FS Compact, as they weren't released until 1992, and since this film was released in 1989, it would have to be a 92SB Compact Version. It is also noted as a 92SB-C by its rounded trigger guard.
Heckler & Koch MP5K
The Heckler & Koch MP5K appears in the film as one of the weapons used by the main villain's henchmen, first seen in the South African embassy being carried under a coat via a shoulder sling, then again aboard the cargo vessel Alba Varden during the final battle.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The Heckler & Koch MP5A3 appears in the film as another weapon used by the main villain's henchmen, first during the raid on Riggs' beachfront mobile home (seen with and without brass catchers), then again during the final battle aboard the Alba Varden, two of which are commandeered by Riggs and Murtaugh and turned against their owners. One odd thing here: When Riggs sneaks into the embassy and confronts all the guys in Rudd's office, he has the henchman with the MP5 show it to him. He acts suprised and impressed and even says, "Where the hell do you get that stuff, I haven't even seen anything like that on the force." Problem is in the first film Rigg's uses to types HK weapons, one of them and MP5. It also seems odd as the MP5 and several varients are general issue to SWAT and other tactical officers. No way is it the first time he seen or come into contact with the weapon. Sorry, I had to raise the issue, it's bugged everytime I watch it, and I watch it a lot.
Mauser C96 Bolo
During the final battle aboard the Alba Varden, the main villain, Arjen Rudd (Joss Ackland) fires on Riggs with a Mauser C96, seriously wounding him before running out of ammunition.
Walther PPK
One of Rudd's henchmen, an assassin named Pieter Vorstedt (Derrick O'Connor) can be seen using a Walther PPK in several scenes; first when he assassinates one of the officers in Riggs & Murtaugh's unit, then during the battle aboard the Alba Varden. The first time he uses it he fits it with a silencer. The second time he doesn't have the silencer, though Riggs crushes him with a cargo container before he can fire it.
Smith and Wesson Model 38 "Bodyguard"
Officer Shapiro (Jenette Goldstein) in Murtaugh and Riggs' group uses a stainless steel Smith & Wesson Model 38 "Bodyguard" revolver during the raid on Rudd's hilltop home.
Walther P5
A Walther P5 is used by one of Rudd's henchmen during the tow truck chase scene.
SIG-Sauer P228
A suppressed SIG-Sauer P228 pistol is used by one of Rudd's henchmen, when he tries to murder Leo Getz (Joe Pesci) in the hotel room while posing as room service. [Edit} I don't think it's a P228. On the close up you can see that it doesn't have the trigger guard of a P228, I think it's either a P226 or a P220.
I agree. Also possibly a P225, since the size is similiar to the P228 and the P229 wasn't released yet.
