Stargate SG-1 (1997-2007)
Main cast in seasons 9-10 & Movies

Pistols

Beretta M9

The most common sidearm seen in used by the SG teams (although in real life, the M9 is the military designation for the Beretta, the prop weapons used in the show are most likely the civilian 92F).

((Refering to the pics above) We've always wondered how much ammo does the guys have? We rarely see any of them reloading at all, and we get this were they were all forced to draw pistols. The only few times we see all of them holding pistols.

In the episode 200, Mitchell imagined himself fighting zombies. If you forgot about this episode, yes zombies. When he was doing his last stand backing towards the activating gate, he took out an M9 with a stainless steal slide.

Unknown Revolver

In the episode "Icon", one of the characters on the alien world was seen using this revolver as his side arm. There weren't enough close up shots to see it clearer. It doesn't seem like a single action revolver.

Seen in the episode "Icon", used by the main villian at the end. This prop was later seen in Stargate Atlantis as the standard sidearm of the Genii people.

Submachine Guns

H&K MP5A3

The main weapon used by all SG teams for the first few seasons. Then when the main cast and some supporting and extras switched the P90s, the MP5 was only seen a few times, notable in the episodes Heroes part 1 and battle in part 2 that became part of the Opening for the next couple seasons. Later also seen in use by the Free Jaffa Nation.

File:SG1MP5A.jpg

(Refering to the pic above) We can assume this was before Michael Shanks (Guy playing Daniel Jackson) learned how to hold a pistol correctly, but it fits his character. Just concerned about McGuyver having a gun accidently pointed at him by a guy with the finger on the trigger. Seemed to be a popular theme if you really pay attention in the series

File:SG1MP5A3.jpg
Error creating thumbnail: File missing
File:SG1MP5A4.jpg

(Refering to the pic below) MP-5s made a short prominent comeback as we see an entire team of young recruits armed with them, though storywise, they were really intars. Kinda showing the audience the posibility of a spin-off with these guys. We only see a couple of them in a few later episodes, older, and the girl in the back becomes a popular role in Battlestar Galatica, another great series filmed right next to Stargate.

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

Aside from a few scenes, the MP-5 never becomes noticable for the rest of the series while it gets overshadowed by countless P90 closeups and bigger guns like M4s, G36s, and M60s.

File:SG1MP5A5M16.jpg

FN P90 Personal Defense Weapon

This became the most common weapon after its introduction in Season 4, Episode 8 ("The First Ones"). The episode that introduced it, O'neil suggested the weapon because of the ammo was more penetrating than the MP-5 despite taking rifles would also work. We can assume it was just a device in the script just to bring this weapon the weapon that is identified when anyone thinks of of the Stargate series. The series probably picked this weapon from its futuristic look, something unique from the other weapons at the time. In a few episodes in the later seasons, on Teal'c has been seeing duel wielding this SMG, probably because he wasn't trained in the standard practices of Earth military and he is just that much of a badass with 2. Also seen used once by Bra'tac and in the hands of the Free Jaffa. Introduced to the Free Jaffa in Season 5 episode "The Warrior". Any subsequent episode with the free Jaffa, we these in their hands over staff weapons.

H&K MP7

If fact is correct, the MP7 has only been seen in use by the SG team in only one episode. At the end, Teal'c in all his badass glory, duel wields 2 of them. Since then, the MP7 has not been seen in used by the SG teams and only a handful of extras are seen holding them. In the episode 200, Mitchell, in his own imagination was seeing duel wielding MP7s without any sights and extended magazines fending off Zombies. The episode first showing this was probably the series trying to replace the iconic P90s since obviously you would think how expensive blank 5.7mm's are. Apparently it didn't work out thought Teal'c and Mitchell duel wielding them are John Woo homage.

Blade's Mac-10

Used by the head thug on a planet, I refer it as "Blade's Mac-10" because it is the same prop if not a similiar construstion to the weapon we see Blade use in Blade 1 and maybe it is the verison in Blade 2. Seen in the episode "Off the Grid". The head thug used it in a couple scenes before taking SG1's MP-7.

Thompson

Seen in used by Mitchell in the movie Continuum. It looked like an M1A1, but Mitchell went back in time and used this smg in 1939. The M1A1 and the M1 wasn't designed until 1942 when the US entered WWII. So he probably was using the 1928A1

Unknown shotgun

In one episode, the general and Mitchell were seen carrying pump action shotguns. As of this point, the general's shotgun is an unknown make and model (but that can change once IMFDB users dissect the DVDs ... ;) )

Most likely it's the same shotgun that Mitchell is using.

The section that attaches the shell tube to the barrel looks similar to the Winchester, but there are 2 features that puzzle me. (a) The wooden forearm is different and looks like no forearm in the Winchester line. It looks like a Remington hunting style "trap & Field" forearm, but the checkering pattern is in a different place than that of the Remington. (b)In the 'chamber closed' position, the wooden forearm of the Winchester would sit up 'flush' with the base of the shell tube end cap. The general's shotgun has a forearm that sits a few inches to behind farther back than Mitchells. Both of these details indicate to me that it is NOT the same shotgun, but I'm not sure what it is.

Assault Rifles

M16A2

Seen used by Marines, and the security of Stargate Command.

These are all Colt Model 715s, which are equivalent to the Diemaco C7, not M16A2s. If you look closely, you can see they all have the A1-style rear sight (adjustable for windage but NOT elevation, unlike the A2-style rear sight).

Never understood why the guy on the left always seem to hold onto his M16 slung behind him, as if to keep it from swinging around. Isn't that what slinging your rifle on your back the point so it doesn't swing around and bother you.

GAU-5/A

The GAU-5/A was the USAF contract version of the XM177 "CAR-15" short assault rifle. The USAF Security forces used them until recently, however, most of the non firing GAU-5/As seen in the show were simply XM177E2 "Airsoft guns". The actual GAU-5/A carbines look like the XM177E2 but don't have forward Assist buttons.

"Carter Special" Micro Carbine

This is a customized Armalite M15A4 Carbine with a short 11.5" barrel, aftermarket quadruple-rail SOPMOD accessory forend, and a modified thumb-hole stock taken from a Sterling AR-180 rifle. It is used with an ELCAN sight and a Beta C-Mag dual-lobed 100-round drum and can mount a vertical foregrip and a side-mounted flashlight on the accessory rail. It first appears in Season 7, Episode 9 ("Avenger 2.0"). It gets its name from Major Samantha Carter, the only character who carries it. We later also see it in Episode 18 of Season 7, Heroes Part 2

Interesting: Anyone notice that the solo shot of the gun has no brass deflector on the upper receiver and yet the screenshots of Tapping show that her firing gun HAS the brass deflector. Is that a non firing prop for the show? Or perhaps a fan's airsoft "homage"? GREAT SHOTS!

Yeah, the one in that illustration is a custom airsoft gun. I saw somebody post it on an airsoft forum I used to visit. Interestingly enough, I believe I remember reading about another SG1 fan who built an actual firing copy (as a registered semi-auto SBR) on an Olympic OA-93 or some similar gun like that.
Why would he need to convert an OA-93? The Carter Micro special has a buttstock and a buffer tube, so having the custom gun built on an OA-93 is completely unnecessary. All you need is a standard AR15 and register it as an SBR and put the 7" AR pistol barrel on it. The rest can be built on a standard A1 or A2 upper receiver. :)
Not sure exactly, but I'm pretty sure I remember them saying that was the gun they used. I wish I could find the forum topic where I saw it, but it was so many years ago now.

H&K G3 SG-1

Used in a few episode, once with O'neil. This is the real name of the rifle, and a coincidence to the name of the team that used it on occasion.

Notable seen in one episode. If there are any seen used, please someone point out which episode so I can find it.

H&K G36K

Several times in the last couple season, this rifle was seen in used by the Marines or Mitchel. We've first seen this rifle introduced to SG-1 in "Off The Grid" where Mitchell used it. Same episode we saw the MP-7. The people behind the scenes must of had a deal with H&K at the time to show case their guns. The G36K has been seen plenty of times, but the MP-7 was never seen again. Most of the time, it is seen equiped with a flashlight, and a foregrip.

AK Variants

First seen used by the Russian SG team in "Tomb", also by Honduran terrorists, seen in use by another race of humans first seen in the episode "Icon" and then again once by Mitchell in the Continuum movie.

Error creating thumbnail: File missing
One scene, this Russian SG woman was using what appeared to be an AK47 variant (with a .223 magazine - could be a Type 84, or if the receiver has an RPK reinforcing bar, it could be the Zastava M90 chambered in 5.56mm NATO), but in the next scene, it appeared to be an AK74.
The magazine appears to be Norinco Type 84-style, and there are lots of those in Hollywood's rental armories.

M203 Grenade Launcher Attachment

Seen attached to M4s and M16s. I think it was used only a handful of times. In prop wise, these were all most likely 37mm flare launchers meant to mimic the appearence of an M203, but for the sake of what was presented in story, they are 203s in the SG universe obviously.

They ARE the Cobray CM203 flare launchers. What tips them off is the absence of a second trigger, the shape of the trigger guard, the lack of a step up in the receiver, and the cocking lever on the SIDE of the receiver. Good call.
