M1 Garand Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood ) uses an M1 Garand that he kept from the Korean War to chase Thao Vang Lor (Bee Vang ) out of his garage and scare the Hmong gangmembers off his lawn.

That is, he didn't check to see if it was loaded, wrapped his finger around the trigger, and flags Walt with the muzzle. Colt M1911A1 Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood ) uses a Colt M1911A1 that he kept from the Korean War to scare the "Spooks" away from Thao's sister Sue Lor (Ahney Her ), and is seen carrying it around in many scenes. It should be noted the handgun looks far too shiny and new for a fifty-year-old gun. However this, along with the condition of his Gran Torino, shows the meticulous care his character takes with his belongings. Walt carries it around in his belt without a holster.
