The French Connection
Following guns were seen in The French Connection:
Colt Detective Special
NYPD Detective Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle (Gene Hackman) carries in an ankle holster a pre-1972 version of the Colt Detective Special.
Smith & Wesson Model 10 Snub Nose
Detective Buddy 'Cloudy' Russo (Roy Scheider) uses a 2"-barrel S&W revolver as his service gun. It seems to be a "Military & Police" (later known as the Model 10) (it looks too large to be one of the early versions of the Chief's Special, with square butt).
Colt Gold Cup National Match
The hitman Pierre Nicoli (Marcel Bozzuffi) uses an adjustable-sights 1911-type pistol to hijack the subway train, that looks like a Colt Gold Cup.
Beretta Model 70
During the final shootout, the drug dealers use several Colt and Smith & Wesson snub-nose revolvers, but we can also see, briefly, a Beretta Model 70.
Winchester Model 1897
During the final shootout, Detective Buddy 'Cloudy' Russo (Roy Scheider) uses a Winchester Model 1897 shotgun.
Ithaca Model 37 riot shotgun
During the final shootout several of the other NYPD officers appear to be using the Ithaca 37 shotgun. The Ithaca 37 was used by the NYPD for several decades to include the 1970's.
