Title card from season three of Babylon 5's (1993-1998) opening credits.

Babylon 5 was the sci-fi television series created by J. Michael Straczynski, one of the first sci-fi series to rely on over-arching stories and envisioned as a "novel for television" that chronicled the rise and fall of empire. Starring Michael O'Hare (season 1), Bruce Boxleitner (seasons 2 through 5), Claudia Christian and Jerry Doyle, the series lasted five seasons despite multiple cancellation attempts, spawning movies-of-the-week for TNT and a variety of spin-offs, including Crusade (starring Gary Cole and Daniel Dae Kim), with a 2023 animated release called Babylon 5: The Road Home.
