Springfield Frame
Quick question: How can you tell Nash's gun was built on a Springfield frame? -Gunman69 07:49, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- Quick answer: You can't unless you're holding the gun in your hands and you inspect all the markings and SNs. BTW: I wasn't the originator of that background on Nash's gun, but I have no reason to doubt it. Apparently the info came (in some fashion) from the gun's builder, but other than that, it would be impossible visually to know that it is a Springfield frame via screenshot. - Ok, I just spoke with Jim Zubiena, the man who designed the gun, and it is confirmed: it is a Springfield frame. I figured you were right, but I wanted to make sure. Also, I'm glad to hear you will be re-vamping this page. Not only does it desperately need it, but it's one of my favorite shows and I'm curious as to what guns were used. -Gunman69 06:24, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

(moved from main page) Just as seen in the Dirty Harry movie series, the San Francisco Police Department does not have "detectives". Officers who fulfill those roles are called Inspector. This is accurate and has not changed for 125 years.

The following guns were used in the television show Nash Bridges:
Custom M1911
- Inspector Nash Bridges (Don Johnson) uses a highly customized Model 1911 in .38 Super with a two port compensator. The gun was designed by Jim Zubiena, and built at Mac's .45 Shop. It featured a Colt MK IV Series 70 slide which was custom cut to Commander length and equipped with Bomar sights, with a BarSto barrel. The frame was a Springfield, which had been hard chromed. It also has a Smith and Alexander flat mainspring with magazine well, a combat hammer, beavertail grip safety, extended slide catch, and an extended ambi-safety. It was used through all six seasons of the show.
Ruger P89
- Insp. Joe Dominguez (Cheech Marin) carries a Ruger P89 from Season 1 to Season 4.
Sig Sauer P226
- Used by Joe Dominguez in Season 5
Smith & Wesson SW99
- In season 6, Insp. Joe Dominguez carries a Smith & Wesson SW99
