Forbidden Empire (Original title is Вий ; Viy ) is a 2014 cooperate Russian/ Ukrainian/ Czech fantasy thriller, very loosely based on the novel of the Nikolai Gogol Viy . This is the seventh ecranisation of the Gogol's novel. The first (1909), second (1912) and third (1916) are belives to be lost, the fourth is the well known Viy or Spirit of Evil A Holy Place (Sveto mesto) The Power of Fear (Vedma) Journey to China: The Mystery of Iron Mask
PS. Viy is the evil God of east slavian pre christian mythology.
