Joseph Kosala holds a nickel plated Smith & Wesson Model 29 as Lt. Kobas in Code of Silence (1985).

Joseph Kosala (1947-2015) served 34 years with the Chicago Police Department in addition to appearing in several Chicago-based films and television series. One of his first roles was as Lt. Kobas in the Chuck Norris-starring film Code of Silence, where he also served one of the film's technical advisors. The film was directed by Andrew Davis, who cast Kosala in several of his later films, including Above the Law, Under Siege and The Fugitive (1993). He passed away in March of 2015 at the age of 68.
