Azazel
|
Azazel is a 2002 Russian detective made-for-TV movie based on the novel by Boris Akunin, one of the series of historical detective novels about the adventures of detective Erast Petrovich Fandorin. The story takes place in Russian Empire in 1870s. Erast Fandorin (Ilya Noskov), a rookie detective of Moscow police, investigates a suicide of a wealthy young man and finds a key to some mysterious organisation.
Azazel is the first film about the adventures of Erast Fandorin. It was followed by The Turkish Gambit and The State Counsellor (both 2005). In all three movies Fandorin is played by different actors.
The following weapons were used in the film Azazel:
Reck R14
Several characters, including Erast Fandorin (Ilya Noskov) and his superior Ivan Brilling (Sergei Bezrukov), use revolvers in Single Action Army style. It appears to be a Reck R14 (or possibly R18) revolver in .22 caliber. Two props are used in the movie, one blued and the other nickel plated.
Nagant M1895
Highly anachronistic Nagant M1895 revolvers (of post-1930 version) are used by Erast Fandorin (Ilya Noskov) and Ippolit Zurov (Sergey Chonishvili) during the scene in a German town.
Denix Colt 1849 Pocket
In one scene Brilling (Sergei Bezrukov) gives Fandorin (Ilya Noskov) a pocket revolver, It resembles a Colt 1849 Pocket but upon close inspection appears to be Denix non firing replica.
Double Barreled Gun
In the night scene in a German town Porfiriy Pyzhov (Yuriy Nifontov) carries a double barreled gun of very large caliber, fitted with pistol grip. It appears to be a non-firing prop, fabricated of various spare part and junk.
