Original French Poster
Shock Troops (Un homme de trop ("One man too many" or "The Extra Man")) is a 1967 French-Italian war drama directed by Costa-Gavras. In Summer 1943 in the Southern France a group of Maquisards (Resistance fighters) attack the prison where Nazi hold the arrested Resistance leaders. Suddenly it appears that there is the extra man (Michel Piccoli ) among the liberated people. Is he a German spy, intentionally put in prison cell, or just a victim of circumstances? The commander of the Resistance group Cazal (Bruno Cremer ) doesn't want to sentence the innocent to death, but his second-in-command Jean (Jean-Claude Brialy ) is sure that the man is the agent and demands the execution.
