The Minigun picture

What the hell is the GTA vice city minigun doing in here? The Minigun in San Andreas was different.-Oliveira 22:47, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Ok, once again, couldn't find the screenshot from San Andreas. If you could help me find one, that'd be good. Gunman69 06:44, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
There's one here: http://gta.wikia.com/wiki/Minigun-Oliveira 12:43, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

1911 and M16

I think the 'colt 1911' would more appropriatly be labeled Para-Ordnance P.18, which hold 18 rounds of 9mm.

Secondly, when CJ holds the M16, it appears to be more like the Bushmaster Dissipator, with it's 16 inch barrel, as opposed to a colt commando with an 11.5 inch barrel. It's also the same size as the Ak47, which also has a 16 inch barrel, making the Dizzy more likely. --Zurak 47 09:19, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Well, the Para-Ordnance P.18 and the Bushmaster Dissipator are not the same as the models used in the game. Off the bat, I can tell you that the P.18 has a beavertail grip safety and the Bushmaster has a fixed stock. These traits are different from the models in the game. They are more likely based on the 1911 and the 733. So, thank you for the opinion, but we'll keep it as it is. -Gunman69 22:18, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Dizzys can come from the factory with a collasible stock, http://www.bushmaster.com/images/catalog/xm_15_zoom/BCWA3S%2016D.jpg or be installed by the the end user. I don't disagree that the 1911 image isn't the P18 (although the old P18s didn't have the large beavertail, http://www.sightm1911.com/1911pix/product/Para-Ordnance_P18-9_Pistol_IMAGE_FILE.gif) but it says the 17 round magazine is 'unrealistic'. I think it was originally supposed to be a glock.

Yeah, I think the gaming community has come to the consensus that it was supposed to be a Glock. It seems more likely, however, that it would be a Colt 733. It fits all of the traits (except the erroneous 50 round magazine). In addition, Vice City and Liberty City Stories also feature the 733. Furthermore, "Dizzys" feature an A2 upper reciever, whereas this gun does not. -Gunman69 04:11, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Uzi

I can't add this to the main page because it's not actually in the game, but an IMI Uzi is seen in beta sreenshots. It was originally supposed to be featured in the game, but for some reason, Rockstar decided to remove it from the final version of the game.

If you want to include Beta weapons, then include both the M249, M60, and the M82 Rifle. All three were originally going to be in the game, but were cut for unknown reasons. All of the guns are still in the game files for the PS2 version. The Homing RPG was originally supposed to be the M47 Dragon, but that was changed too. Hughjefender

I added the Uzi 9mm to the Main Page. It DOES appear in the Game, seen on a Statue of Big Smoke inside his Crack Palace, only accessable during the Final Mission.

Unknown assault rifle

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

This gun (in the red rectangle) was seen on the rack in the Ammunation. What is this rifle? --RedCharger 06:54, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

i have not the slightest clue

It resembles a Russian AS silenced assault rifle somewhat [1]. Spartan198 14:36, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

No, that's a 22 rifle that's been tricked out to look like an assault rifle. It's either a ruger 10/22 receiver that's been heavily modified or an AR-7 rifle that has also been as I said, heavily modified. I recognize the magazine as being an aftermarket mag for 22 lr rifes. I wouldn't identify it as such on the main article but just to answer your question above. Hughjefender

Looks like the Federal Engineering XC220--Orita Md.41 09:28, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

I didn't know you could put an AKS stock on one of those. Hughjefender.

It's not ANYTHING, the game designers probably didn't want to base it on any firearm because it's seen so briefly. It was probably used to fill in a gap. User:jackbel

FINALLY I found out what it is! It`s a Charter Arms AR-7 Explorer http://www.weaponspecialists.com/charter-arms-ar-7-explorer

Sniper rifle

it only has one improvement over the Rifle, and that is a zoomable scope.

Not true, gameplay POV the Rifle does 75 damage while the Sniper Rifle does 125, an average pedestrian (except few gang members, SWAT, FBI and National guard) has 100 HP. As a result the Sniper Rifle kills with one body shot compared to the Rifle's two.

Colt .45 / 9mm Pistol

If it holds 17 9mm rounds in the magazine and looks like M1911 pistol, it could be STI Eagle 5.0 (chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum).

Throughout development, it was always meant to be a Glock, but at the last moment, it was changed to the model of a 1911 (from the last game) but kept all the workings of the Glock. --Jackbel 22:26, 10 June 2011 (CDT)
Likely due to Glock realising they could trademark the distinctive shape of their pistols and doing so; HK later did the same, hence switching to a knock-off MP5 clone in GTA IV. Evil Tim 10:02, 9 July 2011 (CDT)

Ingame screenshots

The screens of the Ammunation vendor are presumably taken in an Ammunation in Las Venturas. In LV everything is 20% expensive compared to the rest of the state. E.g The regular pistol costs $200 anywhere outside Las Venturas, but $240 in the city. --Devang.home47 01:02, 28 June 2011 (CDT)

Colt Model 733

Why is the 50-round magazine "very unrealistic" to the Colt Model 733 in San Andreas? In real life, this weapon uses STANAG magazines, and the 50-round capacity is one of them. --ultimate94ninja 17:50, 09 July 2011

Because the model has a 30-round STANAG magazine. It's rather unrealistic for a 30-round magazine to contain 50 rounds. Evil Tim 09:57, 9 July 2011 (CDT)

Supposedly...

...there's a camouflaged M16A1 used by one of the government agents in the mission Stowaway (where you ride a motorcycle into the back of a military cargo plane to blow it up), at least according to Grand Theft Wiki. I left a message on their M16 rifle talk page there asking for proof, but my request has gone unanswered since March of 2011 when I left it. I don't remember seeing it during any of my story playthroughs, but unfortunately can't play this awesome game anymore (damn you, Rockstar, for not giving us HD remakes of GTA III - SA!) to confirm. Could someone with a PS2 or, better yet, the PC version of the game take a look and possibly get a screengrab of it if such a weapon does exist in-game? Both IMFDb and GTW would be extremely grateful. Spartan198 (talk) 09:33, 16 October 2012 (EDT) It's in the opening cutscene to Stowaway. When Carl is hiding behind the crates, there's a an agent holding the M16 while everyone else loads the trucks.--Thomas (talk) 11:49, 16 October 2012 (EDT)

Was just reading the talk and saw your message. There you go, I uploaded the camo version. Zebracherub (talk) 23:47, 16 January 2014 (GMT)

This is Colt M16A2 from Manhunt. It is one and the same model. --Slon95 (talk) 23:10, 01 October 2015 (UTC+2)
A Cerberus team member holds an M16A2.

Hand Grenades/etc

Didn't there used to be entries for the weapon's hand grenades? There are explosive grenades, gas grenades, and satchel charges in the game, or at least the PC version anyway. StanTheMan (talk) 14:55, 17 March 2014 (EDT)

Looking through the history it doesn't look like they were ever added to this one, you're probably thinking of one of the other GTA game pages. Evil Tim (talk) 05:57, 2 October 2015 (EDT)

SMG section

I think the 'rails' are actually just part of the crudely drawn forend - It's meant to represent the ribbing of the 'slimline' HK forend. StanTheMan (talk) 01:56, 24 June 2017 (EDT)

According to this wiki's picture of an MP5A2 with a slimline handguard, the handguard itself appears to have a basic "U"-shaped cross section, with perhaps a small indent on each "arm" of the "U."
Error creating thumbnail: File missing
Now take another look at GTA:SA's HK94A3 below.
File:Gta smg.jpg
You can clearly see the rectangular edges of the "rail" protruding out from the arms of the handguard's "U" shape. Besides, why would Rockstar go to the trouble of adding the slimline handguard's checkered surface to the gun's textures? Wasn't the slimline handguard only used on the earliest MP5 models before being dropped completely for foreends with smooth surfaces? Of course, the 3D protruding parts on the modelled handguard could be a trick of the perspective, and it would take a 3D model viewer capable of extracting that specific gun model to be sure, but at least you can see what I'm basing my conclusion on.--Mazryonh (talk) 19:21, 24 June 2017 (EDT)
Eh, fair enough. StanTheMan (talk) 13:21, 26 June 2017 (EDT)
