Mondragón Fl.-S.-K. 15 with 30-round drum magazine - 7x57mm Spanish Mauser

The Mexican Mondragón Rifle was developed by the Mexican officer and later General Manuel Mondragón. He experimented starting from c.1890 with self-loading rifles, while the global arms industry still dealt with repeating rifles. In 1891 he presented his first self-loading rifle. He also developed the M1893, a straight-pull bolt action design, chambered for the 6.5x48mm cartridge. Further improvements to the model in 1908 followed, which introduced to the Mexican army, but in 1911 only in a small amount of the SIG, Neuhausen, decreased. The German Empire took over a remaining stock of this model in 1915 as the "Flieger-Selbstlade-Karabiner Modell 15 (Mondragon)", abbreviated "Fl.-S.-K. 15". In the Germany, for Mondragón rifles, the increased-capacity magazines have been developed - "infantry" 20-round box magazine, and "aviation" 30-round drum magazine.
