I saw this movie on BBC America yesterday and wish I had this on DVD (I have it somewhere on VHS), this page needs to be screencapped. - Gunmaster45
- It's on my list, I'll try to have it sometime this week. - Speakeasy804
who puts a scope on a G36 when is has a built in scope.
- To get a higher magnification than the standard scope, the built in scope only has a 3.5 magnification. - Mr. Wolf 21:25, 4 September 2011 (CDT)

Bond tells M he knows the sniper was "professional", even though most seasoned snipers wouldn't use the laser like the Cigar Girl does (because a laser shoots a direct line a bullet fires in an arc and at distance lasers aren't affected by wind, or barometric pressure).
- It also gives away your position big time. - Mr. Wolf 21:25, 4 September 2011 (CDT)
- I'm pretty sure she wasn't at enough of a distance either time for bullet drop to be an issue. The Wierd It 16:42, 6 September 2011 (CDT)
- But it's still incorrect for a sniper to use a laser sight. - Mr. Wolf 16:14, 7 September 2011 (CDT)
- It's a cliche. Roll with it.The Wierd It 16:15, 7 September 2011 (CDT)

- She wasn't the sniper Bond was talking about, Renard was the one who shot the banker's henchman. He used a lser sight to send a message to Bond. TheHeartbreakKid15 16:05, 23 October 2011 (CDT)

- Yeah, the only reason a sniper might (and I use that term lightly) use a laser sight is for message sending/intimidation. - Mr. Wolf 17:56, 23 October 2011 (CDT)

- Pretty sure these are AKMSs, not AKS-74Us. The barrels are too long and of course they are underfolders. - Gunmaster45
- Guard on the left holds AKMS, but guard on the right holds AKS-74U. - RedCharger
- The guard on the right holds an AKS-74, not an AKS-74U. The barrel is way too long to be an 'U'. Ramell 00:33, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Street Sweeper
OK, to head off a potential edit war re: Street Sweeper vs. Striker, can someone get a screenshot of the weapon when it's on the deck? I would do it myself but I can't find my brother's copy of the DVD.The Wierd It 16:03, 7 September 2011 (CDT)
Not a Llama M82
The guns used by the "spanish police" are not Llama M82 (note the absence of a slide-mounted safety. Actually, they are not real guns, but blank-firing replicas. Due to strict spanish gun laws, replica guns are usually used in movies filmed in Spain. By the way, the officers are members of the Basque police (or "Ertzaintza" in Basque languague). Spain's territory is divided in several regions and some of them have their own police force. It would be wrong to show the Basque Police carrying the Llama M82. This gun was adopted by the Spanish Army, but it has not been used by any police force in Spain. The Basque police, when the movie was filmed, used the Star model 30 (the alloy framed model 30-PK, I think). Star has been out of business for about 20 years, and most police forces in Spain have replaced their pistols for european-made handguns. The National police replaced the Star 28 PK with the Heckler & Koch USP compact; The Guardia Civil now carries the Beretta 92 FS instead of the Star BM; The Catalonian police uses the Walther p-99 and Heckler & Koch USP compact instead of the Star 30 and Astra 960 revolver. I think that the Basque Police now issues the Heckler & Koch USP compact, although I'm not sure.
Recent Screencap Additions/Changes
It seems a major load of screencaps have been uploaded just recently. Many do look a bit better than the older caps but some of them aren't good images and many of them seem to be there simply to show parts of the story or emphasize a scene rather than give good showings of the gun. Also, some sections now also have what seem to be too many images for their respective entries as well. More than that, it seems these are all new screencaps uploaded fresh, and NOT as updates of old images, meaning there's now a whole set of screencaps floating around and not linked to this page that someone will have to find and sort through to either keep or mark for deletion (a few duplicates are here on the talk page, but as you'll see from the logs there's a big load of images that have been added). I'd make a note on the talk page of the user who did this but I don't think that's my place - still, something that should be noted/addressed. StanTheMan (talk) 14:59, 1 June 2016 (EDT)
