Model 1860 Army with Richardson-Mason conversion to fire cartridges

John Russell carries a conversion of a Colt model 1860 Army made to shoot metallic cartridges, although it could also be a Colt model 1871-72 Open Top Model (note the extractor) (a similar gun can be seen in The Outlaw Josey Wales

Remington model 1858

Clint Eastwood uses this “cap and ball” revolver. He carries pre-loaded cylinders in belt pouches, just like modern speedloaders. Note, however, that the cylinders are loaded with metallic cartridges: in many films the classic cap and ball revolvers are modified to use blanks, which are safer and more convenient.

Remington Pocket Model 1858

The Preacher Clint Eastwood uses this .31 caliber cap and ball revolver (bottom pistol in photograph) as a backup, carrying it stuck into his belt. This is the pistol used to deliver the coup de grace to Stockburn. File:Palerider9.jpg
